Drop Troops
Close Order Drill
Iron Discipline
HQ:
Junior Officer & squad, honorifica, plasma pistol, power weapon, iron discipline
vox, mortar, flamer
Commissar, plasma pistol, power weapon
Anti-Tank Squad, 3 lascannons
Anti-Tank Squad, 3 rocket launchers
Fire Support Squad, 3 Autocannons
ELITES:
5 stormies, 2 melta guns, deep strike
8 stormies & vet sergeant, p.weapon, 2 plasma, infiltrate
TROOPS:
junior officer & squad, power weapon, plasma pistol, iron discipline, lascannon, flamer, vox
Infantry squad, vox, plasma, heavy bolter
Infantry squad, vox, plasma, heavy bolter
Infantry squad, vox, melta, heavy bolter
Armored fist squad, vox, melta, rocket launcher
Chimera, heavy bolter, multi laser, smoke, heavy stubber
FAST ATTACK:
Hellhound, smoke, storm bolter
HEAVY SUPPORT;
Leman Russ, heavy bolters, lascannon
Tactics:
I usually set the hellhound & chimera on one side, russ and HQ on the other, with infantry plattoon in center or even deep strike(!!!). The large stormies team sets near the enemy in cover, at the chimera/hound's side. the small, classic stormies team combines with them to harrass the enemy there and weaken them, before the hellhound, armoured fist and infantry squads arrive.
The army is thus split in 3 groups, one stationary that has the range to support the rest of the army, one that gets on the offensive, and one small that harrasses the enemy. usually the enemy is tempted to attack the HQ, leaving his rear open.
Perhaps the most important aspect of the army is: hellhound excluded, every single, last unit of the army has at least one (if not more) S7+ weapon, so there are no "specific threats" the enemy vehicles can hide from!I can actually pull off 5 S9 shots, 8 S8 shots, and 20 S7 shots, 33 S7+ shots total! ;D
This has worked wonders against eldar, SM and other such foes, while the hellhound and deep striking aspect (see "rapid fire!" ) of the infantry plattoon are usually enough against lower-toughness armies.
Also, all my army can potentially have an Ld of 10!!! with carefull deployment, all of them never flee, they are only 83 ppl, but the enemy must kill ALL of them, not just cause them to flee(which is a pain when they can all take down tanks and most have a init value of 4 due to CoD).
It is not an "imba swarm" or "many tanks!" army but it is one flexible enough to allow me to win games through tactics with no "autowin/autoloss" scenario. I have even won cityfights!lotsa them! What i am trying to do, though, is fit another infantry squad somewhere.
Any comments on the list/tactics?
