Finally you get the chance to criticise one of my minis My humble Dark Apostel of the Word Bearers (the Word Bearers are the only Legion that kept their Chaplains when they converted to Chaos and now they're known as Dark Apostels) The base isn't finished but the mini itself is completly done. As soon I have finished the base I'll post another picture.

Nice highlights, more accuracy would be good, as always

More accurancy at which parts? Perhaps it's just my crappy cam or it's an (un)wanted effect of the inks

I like it a lot, cool colors especially the bronze helmet! Perhaps a little highlighting on the base would be cool, but looking good!

The base is already in work, but as I'm not at home over the weekend I can't finish it. But as soon I finish the base, I'll post new pics. Right now it got the first layer of colour and the first highlight.

Just as a little note, that's not Erebus I don't want to convert such an important person from the 40k background. It was Erebus who led the Word Bearers into serving the Chaos, when he slowly poisend Lorgar's and the other Word Bearers minds and finally he even poisend Horus mind and led to the start of the Great Crusade...

He was realativly easy and fast to paint. The armour took me about 3h due to the many layers of Red Gore and the Magenta Ink to dry. His helmet was around another 1h. And the Accursed Crozius took me about 2h-3h as it was a lot of conversion work...

That was rather short. normally it takes me some more time for special characters. But I have to admit that Word Bearers can be painted very quickly and easy. Biggest problem is applying about 3 layers of Red Gore on Chaos Black primer... but when it's done, it's just simple inking with Magenta Ink, painting the trims and other metal details with a layer of Chainmail and finishing the last few details and the base.

That's depending on the colour and the the kind of model I'm making. For a display model it takes much longer and I use many more watered down layers of colour. The Dark Apostel is a tabletop model and so I just used as much paint as necessary and unfortunatly it takes several layers of Red Gore before you have a nice red and not just black. Perhaps you should try watering down you colours as well and using more then 1 layer of paint. It's not much work and looks good. And btw I'm a really bad painter...

I think it is a nice Mini for a gaming mini. but the skull at the hip, this in the middle of the chaosstar above the "chainmailskirt" i think it would be better, if there is a difference between the colours. it might be better looking when i hold it in my hand, but now it seems to be the same.
I hope you can read all this my english-writing is not the best at all, but i try my best
