Hmm, well I cant say it was the best choice to do, but there are military miniatures out there, like world war 2 wise, with nazi models... They're nicely done though, I like the details, I especially like the officer...dont call me a nazi, they're just nice models is all... But Umm, doesnt "Panzer" mean tank? So they will be mechanized? I dunno, for some reason whenever I think of Imperial mech armies I get this vision of like 14 tanks rolling down the battlefield with "Panzerlied" playing. Umm, try taking off the swastikas though, some poeple might get REALLY offended by this, but aside from that, they are pretty good models!

I always think direct copies of real-world armies are a bit boring. Using the colours and uniforms as inspiration is fine but it seems a bit cheesy with 40k minis with SS markings. Having said that, the minis are nicely done. You should try to highlight and shade them a bit, especially the skin areas.

Hmm...yeah, try using a flesh wash over the hands and face with an additional highlight of elf flesh over that.

Painting itself isn't bad. It's sad that you wanted to make a Nazi army though... I have it on good authority that you'll get barred from tournaments with that...

Wow, i can kinda understand where some of you are coming from but don't flame him because he decided to base his army off the german army uniforms. Most nazis were just following orders like any other good soldier would, there is nothing wrong with his decision of paint scheme for a simple game.
Anyways they are nice models, the only problem in my opinion is the faces, more highlights, and maybe give em a mouth and eyes. But good job.

nice paint scheme, but yeah some people will be really offended by that and you get banned from tournaments aswell and possibly not in any games workshop stores.

If someone is going to paints their minis in SS uniforms then they should expect some flak. So far most people have commented on the painting but they're also just saying that they don't think it's right (neither do I). Anyone who paint's their mini's as the SS know they'll get grief for it, and thats' why they do it (it's like walking around wearing a tshirt with an offensive slogan on the front). I've been into WWII history for a long time, so I'll just point out that there is a difference between the SS and the regular German Army. As for the mini's I think that they could do with a black wash on the uniforms and a flesh wash on the skin to add some depth. Also Panzer does mean Tank and the Panzer VI is the Tiger tank.

Understood Woz, i was just trying to say instead of saying how much you think it's wrong to paint your guys like that, help him out with his painting instead.
I also wanted to add i noticed that you skin is a bit messy, skin is a hard thing to make realistic, some highlights of maybe dwarf flesh on the ones that look too light and elf flesh on ones that look too light i thi8nk will make it more balanced.

I agree with Woz. The SS were a core army established originally as a political police force that grew into a military arm of the Nazi party, not Germany itself. I am Jewish and so anything related to that has always gotten to me. That said, the minis themselves are mostly well done, they are very clean. However, they don't really have any depth to them because of lack of higlighting and shading. Another thing you could do to improve them would be to paint over the SS markings which-while skillfully done-will invariably cause problems for you. Instead put on Wermacht markings if you really must do something tied to that terrible time period. I am stumped that so many people are fascinated with the so called great warriors of WWII who were really just murderous, pillaging, raping, disgusting excuses for human beings. Oh yes there were some who didn't think it was right but the fact is it still happened, so as long as you emulate their symbology or persona, you'll be bringing up a painful subject for alot of people. I hope you take everyone's advice and have another look at your choice of theme. Sorry if you think I'm flaming or ranting but this is a forum for ideas and those are mine.

yeah...its your choice but i am a bit disturbed by the fact that you chose to do that when you have potential to do a great themed force that doesnt disturb people. I am only 13 and dont know harldy anything about that period but i know what the natzis did and it is very disturbing.

Well they are very menacing, try adding a black wash to the grey, more depth.
