TANK GUIDE to DESERT CAMO

ive just started painting my new lemun russ and decided to show u guys a stepped guide towards painting a desert camo style. ;D







I hadnt inteded it to be black cos my friends had primed it instead of white...so i had to go out and buy myself a dheneb stone, which i think is great because its not like bleached bone or skull white...it has a sort of beige colour on black which made for a great basecoat to the tank.










Here i took a water downed layer of desert yellow to bring down the tone of the dheneb stine to make it darker. It may look like a greater daemom mite have peed all over it but for now...the water downed desert yellow is for its future purpose...

By the way... what army do you usually fight?

I mostly fight Tyranids.

I`d be really interested to follow the progress of this tank. I paint my tanks in desert camo as well so hopefully I`ll be able to pick up a few hints.

another good way to get good looking desert tanks is to get some "krylon" brand camoflage spray paint, desert tan specifically and dry brush over it with bleached bone, and it is also about 1/3 the price of gee dub primer

not a bad idea at all Jeremy.I have a friend at our local gaming store we call shiney orc boy becouse he krylons all of his orcs red ,green or black and then goes up in colors from there.I never thought of using it in a matt color as a base for tanks.
