Hey all, most of you have seen this guy already, but there are a few deferances regarding the metal: I learnt NMM so i redid GMS. ( sorry, about the over bright lightNMM, incase you dont know, stands for Non-Metalic Metal. As the name suggests its a way of painting metal and if done right will produce convincing peaces of metal. I may post a tutorial on how to acheive metal using NMM later on. Comments are very welcome. Regards, Night 12

NMM is a very hard technique. As far as I can see your GM is WIP. If its NMM on the details (brazier and runes) it looks really good so far. Problem comes to add it to the big areas.
A warning though, I have painted whole armies and warbands in NMM, and to be honest, unless your really good at NMM, the army will look better with real metalic paints. NMM is for competesions and centre piece units.

that's a really sweet looking model, but, if you'll hear just one piece of criticism (and that's all, I promise) it's that the shield with his heraldry reallyreally detracts from the beauty of the model. I would really consider getting a windsor newton paintbrush of the smallest size so you can do that shield some justice with a repaint (and don't drink coffee before trying to repaint the heraldry! ). the rest of the model looks great, the armor is a bit dark, but it looks pretty solid - not much NMM on it from the looks of it, but the shoulder looks fantastic as well as the gold icons and stuff - it had me convinced that you'd used metallic paints from the pics - very nice sir! the inscriptions on his armor are brilliant by the way.

Thanks, I like constuctive criticism, it helps me alot. all the silver parts are NMM, and the gold parts apart from a little silver orb thing by his left leg.

I have a lot of respect for people that do paint is this way but, frankly I think metalic paint is easier, less time consuming and unless NMM is done correctly metalic paint also looks better.
I am not saying this model doesn't look great (I didn't realise the silver was NMM until Night said!) it's just, I can't really see the point in doing it.

well, untill metalic paints were invented metals were painted with greys, browns and whites (as an example). All metalic paint really is though is grey (or yellow) with tiny tiny tiny peace of metal (I think alluminium). And as you said, it is very time consuming so thats why people normally paint it for display. Anyway, Turtleboy, I did as you asked and changed his little sheild. ( I think that little transfer wrecked it slightly though ) Regards, Night 12

I have redone the centre Inquisition block on his chest (or part), I have givin it a more gold coloured gradient and now makes everything else look darker
