This is a small bunker and trench system I've built- The top of the bunker comes off so I can get figures inside.

wow, that looks awesome, and it doesnt look like one of those pansy bunkers that GW builds that are all clean and stuff.
could you tell us how you made all the stuff?

I made it from polystyrene. Covered it with PVA and coated it in sand.

You need some sheets of polystyrene insulation about 1" x 48" from a hardware store. Cut it like this- Glue it to a card base. Make several layers so it's stepped- Carve out passages between the trenches and add some gun pits. Coat it with pva glue, then cover it with sand. When it's dry shake any loose sand off and paint it with watered down PVA to fix the sand. Use normal household paint to paint it. Add a black wash and "Hey Presto" you've got a trench.

very good modeling however tactically its a failure. never have a trench that has an opening right infront of the bunker leads to instant swamping with flames and grenades.
trenches should be mazes otherwise very good

I think Space puppy is refering to the "S" entrance that is in use on modern warfare trenches.
This can simply be a sandbagged wall, or earth dug to an S shape prior to the entrance of a bunker.

Oh yeah, tactically that little gap could be a mess, butttt...it looks damned fine.
