Hi there,
as some of you already may have read I am about to start a IG army based on a Tallan like desert planet. I would like to use the light infantry doctrine, both since it is one of the Tallarn doctrines presented in the codex, but also because I think it fit well with the theme for my army. However, what I want your opinion on is how to use the doctrine most officiant in battles. Should every infantry unit have it, or only some of them. What weapon loadout have you found to work well with light infantry, and how do you support your infiltrating troops?
I have searched the forum for this kind of information, but have not found much of it. If the subject has already been discussed in detail I am very sorry for writing another post on it.

Welcome to the forum ashford. That's a good question. Light Infantry gives you lots of options, it's really useful to have some infiltrators in every battle, but is especially brilliant for city fight and escalation (where you can deploy all your infiltrators everywhre from turn one, while your opponents non troop choices arrive piecemeal). Remember as guard you can have infiltrating Sentinels, Veterans, Stormies and Ratlings - this already gives you a lot of options without infiltrating heavy weapons teams etc. I'd recommend looking at the following threads: commissar.proboards22.com/v45index.cgi?board=Infantry&action=display&thread=1050TB's got a good starting point to look at using infiltrators. Additionally have a look at the battle report to see how this "skirmish line" infiltrators approach works for the IG: commissar.proboards22.com/v45index.cgi?board=aar&action=display&thread=2919&page=2Just some thoughts...
