Questions:
Psykers.
The codex say that one power is randomly selected... It doesn't say when. Is it evry turn? At the start of battle? before the start of battle?
Wargear.
If my officer comes with a laspistol, and i get him a plasma pistol, and show both on the model, can i fire both in the shooting phase, and do they count as 2 close combat weapons for h2h?
Rough riders.
If you give them hunting lances, they replace the other weapons, and are one-use weapons. So after they've fought one round of h2h, they are pretty much like regular guardsmen... with no h2h weapons... correct? Now i'm not arguing about the lances. What i'd like clarified is that they don't have ANY weapons after the first round. not even a pistol to shoot somebody with?
Morale:
Say you take out 25% or greater of the enemy's squads current strength, so they have to check for morale. When do they test morale from shooting? I couldn't get a clear answer from the rule book, so we are currently doing at the start of the controlling player's turn, at the movement phase, because we figured, hey, they might run, and that's movement... because it's been so long since i played 2nd ed, it seems silly to me for troops to check for morale in the enemies shooting phase (ie just after they got shot up, otherwise they can move back out of range of any of my follow up fire)
And as for assualts, when someone loses an assault (less wounds caused, that i remember.. sometimes) which happens all the time against a chaplain in termy armour, and his 9 termy honour guard...I forget when we usually test... it's not usually an issue, since they're usually all dead, apart from occasionally ogryns, and the occasional officer. So i guess i test after we removed casualties. Is that right? before the enemy consilidates? (usually they all surround the surviving officer, and try to touch another unit to stay locked, and un-shootable)
Deployment.
it says place one unit each side, then the opposition places a unit of their own, and back and forth etc.
What is a unit? Is it an entire troops selcection (ie for me, the platoon hq and the inf sqaud he's commanding?) or is it the command squad only, followed next rotation by the inf squad, or as another example, would i place the hq command squad and all supporting anti tank and anti personnel squads at the same time, or squad by squad?
Thanks
