had a couple of ideas on this thing. not as harsh as it used to be but still V nasty if used right. Things to remeber: 1. the enemy gets 1 attack at u thats auto hits, but only with a weapon thats getting shocked (gotta be infront of tank not other side of squad). 2. enemy unit has to move and keep in coherrancey -spelling-, meaning you can force them to move were you want them to if done right. right: first one is the SoB favorite: tank shock the side of a unit, forceing the side to move and 'bunch up with the rest' jump out and flame for full squad hit. second is the best way to kill big units: tanks shock either side of say, nid gaunts and force them into a channel meaning they get about 6-7 models in combat, reducing there mass effect. third is the linebreaker: got a russ with no guns? enemy got solid gunline and tank you need to punch hole in. you can tank shock VEHICLES!, they just move back 6", walkers are affected like infantry Last for moment is the 'last-ditch-oh-my-god-there-terms-on-us': although not exactly tank shock. park behind and to side of a nasty CC squad with 2 tanks, (russ and chimera work well) then assualt with infantry in front forming a triangle, if you manage to break and the run, they cant and die to cross fire only a few ideas but ill post more as i think aco

I'm no rules guru, I gotta go back and check to be sure, but I do not think you can disembark after a tank shock. I believe the tank shock counts as the attack even though it occurs in the move phase, and that it is the only thing you can do with the tank/embarked units.
Unless maybe you disembarked FIRST, in which case the tank ends up going its merry way doing what it wants... So that tactic WOULD work if the enemy did not have the presence of mind to bunch up out of range of the flamer or whatever.
But I could be wrong... just ask my wife, she'll happily confirm I've been wrong in the past (lol)

You forgot the emergency crush scenario. Box in a Wraithlord/Sentinel/Dreadnaught using other vehicles/models/impassable terrain, then tank shock them, forcing a Death or Glory attack. Use a Leman Russ or similarly heavily armoured vehicle, and make sure you have trackguards. That way they have to get a destroyed/wrecked result to kill you. about 80% of the time the result is a crushed walker or wraithlord.

basicly, just move your tank maximum distance (12") and if it reaches enemy models they take leadership check, its all in the big black book but i dont have it on me atm
