When a tank is hit with the pie-plate, if the center hole is lands on a side sponson, does that count as a full strength hit, or is it reduced to half strength? I didn't know if for it to count as a full hit it had to land on the hull itself.

the wording in the manual is not hitting the "hull", its "vehicle". and last I checked the sponson is part of the vehicle. Yes, it would take a full strength hit.

Grenadier has it right per RAW. Most experienced players will go with that interpetation as well. Just be prepared for the dolt who as they move the pie plate on the drift move it slightly so as not to have the sponson under the hole, or claim that it isn't the way the rule reads. You may have to resort to a d6 on such kids. Usually once they learn that by doing this sort of "Cheats" that they are no longer welcome in a game session they change their ways. Some grow up never to learn and thus hardly ever play in any games.
Remember, it's just a friendly game in the end and you have the choice of playing against them or not.

If so I'm pointing my turret to the rear, keep it over the tank as much as possible. "Keep all arms, legs.... and battle cannons inside the vehicle at all times."
