Yes, I have the original Last Chancers. And, Yes I use them. Most people complain because "they just aren't fair". I think they add character. They make for an great kill team. I'll post pics soon.

I don't see Last Chancers used around my area often if at all. I plan on making my own just to have fun. From their rules, they seem to be a very powerful yet flexible special unit. The ballistic skill, customize-ability and special rules certainly make them a force to be reckoned with if used right. You can have up to five sub units, and since each one is now separate from the rest, they can either infiltrate, deep strike or deploy on the table. 2 - 3 sub units dropping in with meltaguns and flamethrowers can certainly ruin a person's plan.
If you ask me, they seem really strong and flexible, and I see no reason why they shouldn't be used except because they're special characters or expensive.

Oh the original LCs were great. The new ones in the Codex are just crap... 7 or so soldiers counting for 2k points and having great special rules...

got two lots of the originals but the knife tend to snap on the red indian looking guy,(both of mine have) i dont use them much as they can become a major point sink, and realisticly die as easy as every other grunt. but they look cool and i can imagine the rest of my army spending way to long letching over the warrior and rocket girls lol

I gave my friend the Last Chancers box set and he gave a few models to me when he stopped his Guard. However, I don't actually have my own Last Chancers yet. I'm going to scratch make them when I get enough Catachan bits to mix with my Cadians. Lots of conversions to come.

Yeah, but the original models were soooo camp - it was like fighting the village people...

Damn, yeah i spotted some LC's on ebay and id never seen the original models before, the asking price was a bit rich i though. 200 would have been the point value for the sniper alone... (actually they didn't have any present pointvalue IIRC) But you could choose to field Schaeffer and his last chancers with their special rules against any kind of army (for example had the sniper the marksman special rule). Drawback of that you had no other troops beside the LCs with their preset inventory

Yeah the rules about taking up multiple troop sopts seemed a bit silly, i dont get why they did that.
WOuld be fun to use in smaller games.

In the last Tournament my club ran, a guy turned up with an entire army of Last Chancers. They died to a man every time, but the guy had a huge amount of fun, watching his opponents freak out at their versatility, until they found out that they died when looked at. And recently I picked up about 20 of them, including the Colonel and Kage, from a newbee at our club who simply didn't want them!
