the dark in dere rule of the ogryns says if an officer is within 12". not if its in their squad. meaning you can put your commander or the commissar attached to your HQ near your ogryns and they'll just scream at the ogryns from a distance and convince them to get into the tin can. I read the advisor rule as saying only Infantry Squads from platoons can have Advisors, as well as Armoured Fist and Storm troopers. I didnt at first, i thought i could give advisors to my veteran squads, but the combo is to gross
i mean, 10 guys with CC weapon and laspitol as well as a priest with evisorator and a commissar. i was taking out space marine assault squads and ork warbosses and pretty much anyone in close combat. its too good. imagine an ogryn with a priest and a commisar. that is way to many re-roles and way to many dead marines. I think they specifically made it so priests couldnt be used in such units as it was to overpowered, especially when combined with a commisar. its too overpowered and to much of an assault army. guard are not supposed to be good a close combat. it doesnt fit the feel of them.

That is how I read it too, can u imagine a preist and commissar attached to a 50 man conscript squad and then charging someone with it, keep a holy relic for the next turn, and it's just pure evil I can see why they chose to restrict it.
