Ok I am a begginer painter and modeler,
Yet, stuff seems going fine modeling vise, painting not so much althoug I did the research and it seems halluva better now,
Problem is I hav partially painted pimped out models, now I want to get rid of the paint job I did.
The problem is I do not want my plastic/greenstuffed models to fall apart
What to do
1. either get rid of a little paint and paint over what is left without second basecoating, how to do it?
2. Paint over exsisting paint with basecoating new converions on painted stuff
3. drop the hobby
4. risk it falling apart
What to do?
Also how do I go about converting metal you can cut it but how is the best way to reconnect pinning, greenstuff, superglue, and what if adding plastic to metal?
Thanks for help

I'm going to see if I might be able to help out here. I have been in the hobby since 1985 so I feel I have a bit of experience in this field.
If you are asking how to strip the paint then there are several ways to do this. Brake Fluid is always useful. Just drop in the model and in 24 hours remove and the paint will come off easily. Simple Green is also another product that will work. However, it eats green stuff and any conversions you made may be lost. Another choice you have is to take a dremel tool and use the felt buffing pad. THe highspeed of the tool will take the paint off easily.
I would actually strip before doing any new conversions so that my conversions were done right. Unless of course you were just adding a weapon and cutting off one from a previously painted model. Anthing extensive I would go with stripping first.
Heretic!!!! You take this risk everytime you play and someone picks one up. SOmething you need to learn to live with.
I would suggest pinning in most cases. The pin does a few things. 1. Strengthens the joint 2. adds more surface area for glue to adhere to 3. Retains the position you are trying to achieve.
A friend of mine once took magnets to his Termies and their Lightening claws. The weight of the claws pulls them downward so now we tease him about his "Wolverine" squad.

Ok I am putting some extra green stuff cammo webbing and kneepads, the models are painted but I did strip some with a hooby knife to stick the green stuff, so in this case I could try and paint green stuff black as a base coat go from there in giving in the right colouring
also I need to change the body armour colours give samoe washes highilights and cammo pattern think it can be done without stripping paint, also some flesh will have to be redone
I am hoping that successive paint layers will not kill the detail

All I can say is that you can try it, but don't be surprised if you end up stripping anyhow.
