Rough rider conversion (scratch built)

so i saw a neat conversion where somebody put some cadians onto motorbikes. i thought this was awesome so ive started to make my own. my squad will be 3 bikers as thats all i feel like making right now, but so far ive built one complete bike and have the stuff to make two more handy. i think the bikes looking pretty gnarly so far, id love to hear some comments on it.

Whats that big round bit of putty or something in the last photo? Did you make the tyres/wheels by hand?

well they were only moulded one sided, so in order for it to look like it didnt have toy tractor wheels, i had to make a mould of the one side, stick greenstuff into the hole on the other side, then press it into the mould pictured above to get the same wheel pattern on the other side.

thanks! iim nearly done with the first rider. im gonna give them all bolters cause the rough rider models have bolt pistols, and they just look cooler than lasguns to be quite honest.

ok first bike is finnished. my sarge is packin a bolter and a chainsword. i had to use the hand from a space marine to make him hold the sword in his right arm, but it looks pretty cool. i was thinking of alternate paint schemes for this squad but really, i think it looks pretty good as just typical cadians.

I wasn't sure how it was going to look when painted, but i really like your conversions. makes me almost want to sue rough riders.

I dunno I sure liked that mounted Ogryn, still sweet conversion I always wondered why they didn't put Guard on bike before.

how did you do said conversion? what did you use?

i used a 1 dollar die cast tractor from target, a lot of sprues cut up into various shapes and then just other random bitz and pieces of plastic. i could never give a good writeup on how to do it, its kind of one off, and the main part thats hard to find is the motor block and wheels. if you can find stuff to work for those parts, the rest can be built from plastic scraps. im thinking of going back to target to get some more tractors cause theyre only a dollar each so i can make more bikes, but then again, i just bought 2 forgeworld tanks, 2 hellhounds, some russ's 2 shock troop squads, about 20 metal special characters and a heavy weapons squad from my friend. im paying 150 for said stuff. i cannot wait to get the package, its gonna be sick!!

thanks guys. today i took the biker to GW and the employees loved it. im nearly done with bike 2 and the rider, and bike 3 is under construction. i have a feeling ill be a little slower with the next two cause i just went out and bought some demon hunters and a sisters of battle cannoness to paint...

oh yea, and its a bolter. i love the bolters, theyre much nicer than silly las guns. since the rough riders, and select comissars have bolt pistols, i figured som e marine bolters will be acceptable too. im gonna start making my second rider later today maybe... im working on a very difficult conversion and when its done, im gonna want something plastic to work on, since this is an all metal and greenstuff conversion.
