I was looking through the new 5th edition book, and in some of the fluff stuff, recounting battle of the imperial guard, there were drawings of tanks, including a demolisher, a Leman Russ battle tank, and a LRBT chassis with a turret that had 4 barrels. It is only a small picture, but there are multiples of them.
I think this may be the leman russ exterminator, but instead of having a twin linked autocannon, it will have 2 twin linked autocannons.
anyone else see it too? I'll list the page number on friday when i get my 5th edition book.

The hydra has two twin linked Las-cannons (or at least the model I got from Forge world displays it this way).
Getting new tanks would be nice.

the hydra flak-tank in the Apocalypse book hase twin-linked long barrelled autocannons, but in a game like Apocalypse I dont see why yours can't have lascannons.

the hydra has two twin linked autocannons on a anti aircraft mount.
This was different.
It was on a leman russ chassis, with a leman russ turret, but instead of a battle cannon it had 4 smaller barrels. so it definitely isn't the Hydra. I'm thinking they tooled up the exterminator.

no defiently not a hydra.... its the leman russ chassis however where the usual battle cannon or demolisher cannon is ...... well 4 cylinders in a square shape. ....... could be heavy bolters or somthing .... its a real mystery.

It could be anything. There are quite a few vehicles and weapons in the books/artwork/codices/fluff that don't appear in the army lists. I wouldn't be suprised if the artist may have gotten carried away or something!
And from spacepuppy's description it's difficult to say what the it could have been! No offence intended. It could be anything.

The Manticore is a missile tank.

A missle tank that only has 4 shots a game. Im not really understanding the worth of it, as it isnt even instant hit.

It's similar to the Tau skyray. That only needs a 2+ to hit though.

Nah, I'm sorry, I didn't make myself clear. The Skyray needs a 2+ to hit. Sorry for the confusion.

Ah. I'm now back to the point of 'Great, a 4 shot tank. What is it good for again?'

I always presumed it would be good against enemy vehicles. They must be a special type of rocket 'cos they are huge. Besides, 4 shots is quite alot. I doubt you'de actually get a chance to use all of the rockets in a normal game...
