Hmm, interesting idea with the standard infantry tankbusters. Could work with Remnants as well, though you don't have as many bodies or Grenades, but get a cheaper squad and can avoid fire easier...
I'm planning to take a Vet Squad with Melta-guns and potentially a Power Fist for some close range anti-tank in combination with my heavier weapons, and I'm torn about whether to give the Storm Troopers Melta or Plasma (due to better save).
With Deep striking units, can't they land and then run, thereby breaking formation (reducing vulnerability to blasts) and hopefully seeking cover? You have to forego the shooting (potentially Rapid Fire) but if you need them to survive untill next turn it could be handy.

at addictive woz:sucks against landraiders?2 melta shots.by each infantry squad that touches a land raider.that's even better chance to penetrate a land raider than 3 lascannons!!!! Meltaguns have always been my weapon of choice against armour. What I meant about "sucks against landraiders" is that the rear armour is the same as the front so "attacks are resolved against THE REAR" doesn't make a difference. Once smurf players cotton onto this then we'll be seeing more landraiders. Careful Woz, Your not allowed an opinion remeber. Lol. I much perfer Meltaguns, I love the one on the elysian sentinal.

With the new deep strike rules for SM, assault type troops can assault if they choose not to shoot when they deep strike, so if you equiped every model with meltabombs, good thing if you can land em close. Imagine the turmoil if they did that with termy chain fists
