I share some of my most important 5th ed experiences with my fellow guardsmen and contemplate on guard 5th ed. tactics.
Game:Pitched Battle-Secure & Control(the 2 objectives 1 in each deployment zone one, not sure if name is correct.)1500 points.

1st round:
i do not outflank, instead infiltrate normally, left flank.i keep the troops command in deep strike reserve.his rangers infiltrate in ruins.
his jetbikes, falcon, and troops surge forward.his wraithlords can't take out the russes, but stun one.his avatar hides from the heavy weapon squads.
all stormies, empty chimeras & non-heavy weapon infantry squads surge forward.
Dire avengers in cover , job for the hellhound(poor guys, luckilly i missed so)half squad dead. non-stun leman russ and autocannons fire at the bikes , kill 2.lascannons don't pass the falcon's armour-bad rolls.
2nd turn:
avengers bladestorm at stormies, kill most. disembarked fire dragons shoot at stunned russ,but most squad far from 6" and they can't penetrate!only the exarch immobilizes it.it can shoot, however-and they don't have cover!in my turn,all die.
both turns, his rangers underperform.
his guardians charge one of my squads, wipe them out but have casualties.
My chimera finishes off the dire avengers with its heavy flamer.
flaming command squad deep strikes next to rangers on objective-all burn from the 2 flamers.
autocannons and lascannons fire, cause jetbikes to flee, shake falcon.2 stormie squads and an infantry squad charge the guardians and wipe them off-no more scoring units for him!he starts playing for the tie.
turn 3:
his avatar assaults my leftover(hurt by avengers) stormies, wipes them out.his wraithlords previously kill a russ.his maygan ra slowly kills stormies from other squad that gave cover to troops.
troops commsquad, stormies squad and infantry squad reach his objective, i shoot and wound a wraithlord twice.i shake the falcon.
turn 4:
his avatar makes the jetbikes fearless in a desperate attempt, and maugan ra kills all stomies. wraithlords cause infantry squad to flee.
my shooting destroys falcon's pulse laser.I cannot wound the wounded wraithlord, but wipe out the remaining jetbikes.his desperate attempt failed.my 2 heavy bolter infantry squads run to the objective.
turn 5:
his avatar charges one of my remaining infantry squads that run to objective. his falcon babysits my fleeing infantry squad, causes my other squad to flee along with maugan ra.lucky shots from wraithlord missiles wipe out the troop command squad in the objective-both hits!!! the game is a tie.we agree to not roll for turn, since we have no troops and there is little to no hope of wiping out the enemy.
Game 2:
1500, IG vs. Tyranids.
Game:same objective, but Dawn of War.

HEAVY SUPPORT:

1st turn:
i place 2 infantry squads & command squad(should have placed lascannon squad, mistake)
i see he has also made a mistake.he deployed tyrant & 2 hormas, so that his genestealers will have cover later.
however, i play first, and fire at the squad away from the tyrant, which though would have synapse when his other synapse creatures entered, didn't have that now!it lurks!!!
my other units went to center, tanks at flanks, in fear of the broodlord retinue.however, i fail to wound the tyrant.
his army surges forward, his tyrant hidden from TLOS by a huge ruin is dangerously close.his fex fails to kill a tank.
2nd turn:
i shoot at the other horma unit with everything but russes, who shoot at genestealers.warriors and biovore/zoanthrope are out of TLOS.i kill 8 total genestealers, most hormas.
his tyrant charges!he instantly wipes out my 1st infantry squad!!!
normally a defeat, my other squads were too close.however, he realizes he may not consolidate in cc now and looks at the 2 meltas, 1 plasma, 1 autocannon and 3 plasma pistols of the 2 commsquads and 1 infantry squad targetting him...also, his stealer retinue doesn't arrive.his biovores miss.
3rd turn:
my lascannons always roll 1s to wound the fex, both this round and previous.however, his tyrant is taken down by a salvo of plasma/melta fire!!!my chimera heavy flamers wipe out all remaining hormagaunts, as stormtroopers kill 4 more genestealers far away.
he surges forward, his spinegaunts charging an infantry squad and conscripts.his other spinegaunts charge a stormtroopers squad.his second squad gets locked in cc this turn, the other one gets killed due to lower save and low str/WS(failed to wound, had some casualties,killed by new fearless rules)fex takes one heavy flamer out of the equation., 8 conscripts killed by biovores.
his retinue arrives, but the flanks are far away from my lines.
4th turn:
my other stormies kill the remaining genestealers, leaving a squad of 8 and the retinue.his spinegaunts still fight my stormies.my vehicles near the retinue surge on the other side, leaving the retinue outmaneuvered and out of the equation-with no fleet of foot, it would need to get to 7 rounds for it to do anything...
his zoanthrope charges the engaged stormies and finally i lose.
his fex is now close and charges the full squad of stormies-i leave them out of Ld and they flee, but with fex low initiative they succesfully break away!his full-unwounded warriors and 8 genestealers charge the conscripts, wipe them in consolidatio-the conscripts still killed 3 stealers!!!however, they still cannot consolidate in other units, left stranded.
turn 5:
the damaged chimera killes remaining previously engaged spinegaunts.
the stormies regroup, and combine their rapid-firing plasmaguns with the 3 lascannons!the fex dies!!!vengeance!!!
the 5 warriors get targetted by a heavy flamer, heavy stubber, multilaser, 4 heavy bolters and 2 lascannons(3 tanks).and an autocannon, a plasmagun, and 8 lasguns(infantry squad).without cover. easy to say what happened.
the 5 remaining stealers get a move-shoot-charge by the 2 command squads, 3 plasma shots, 2 grenade shots, 2 melta shots, and many more.only one survived for cc, it gets killed, killing a lasgun-armed squad member.my troops command squad consolidates to my objective near my lines.
roll for turn 6 fails.i win!!!
