Yeah, I have to agree with the canopy look; it'll go along with the hobbled-together half-track look you're going for. And I'm all for scout IG!
Overall, excellent work on the project so far! I've been following it with much interest!

just a suggested go for the cannopying and then get some mesh and make it camoflague that would be cool

is the brown stuff hardboard wood or cardboard? if its cardboard i would suggest using more plastic card, wonderful stuff.
i love this conversion so far, i am considering making one myself now, it looks so awesome!

Wow, it looks awsome! The Canopy thing is a good idea. Both variants look cool but I think it'd look better with a canvas one. That might just be me. Keep up the good work!

   It seems a bit big for a truck when you see it next to the Chimera, and it was always the plan to have the truck converted into a Chimera, to hold an armored fist squad to be deployed along side a ogryn squad and a leman russ, to take and hold objectives. I think I'm going to armour it, and use the canopy as an excuse to start another, less bulky version perhaps with out the tracks and dozer blades and have it centimeter lower , maybe to carry two heavy weapon squads in a mechanized army (I'll HAVE to buy a heavy weapons box set of 3 teams just to kit out the inside of the truck of course, well thats what I'll convince myself) So i will get round to a canopy but not on this project but my next problem is how to put 6 lasguns on the side of this conversion, I'm stumped!! |

well, if the back is gonna be totally enclosed, cut out six ports (three on each side) then grab some lasgun bits from the troop sprues and fit them in.
if you're just gonna have like, the lower half armored, then make posts, or some sort of apparatus and fit las-guns into those.

Not sure when i'll get round to finishing it, haven't worked on it since last time i posted pictures (painting 3squads of troops and converting a eight man team of ogryn have got me side tracked) |

Looks like it could be a command chimera or Medical half-trak.
