Greetings, I've just discovered that LEGO has this new R/C Power Functions device in many of their new technic vehicles. I've been in search of those plastic tank tracks many technic kits have to make either a Land Raider or Bane Blade as well. Now that many of those LEGO kits combine both I got to thinking, why not buy a few kits and create a LEGO LR or Bane Blade.
What do you guys think? Plausible? Waste of money? Experiences?
*shrugs* I'm excited about this stuff at the moment if you can't tell.

plauseable, but would cause great grief in GW sponsored events and even in your store

Unless you could some how turn the moving parts and fit them into an actual baneblade model from GW In which case you will win first prize as "most bad ass baneblade ever".

I think the baneblade kit lends itself rather well to R/C conversion - the large internal space would fit a motor and drive mechanism fairly well. Don't think you'll be able to do the tracks - I'd stick with wheels out the bottom. Still, would be funny when someone attempts to assault it- just move it back an inch to shouts of "Hey!"

Didn't they make like a massive R/C baneblade for one of the UK gamesdays a few years back, it was like half a metre tall or something.

I don't know about the lego, but Tamayia has a R/C kit that would work. Of course you would need to make some alterations to the original model and there is that pesky control wire.
All in all it would work. In ages past I made a rhino r/c using it and that was after major cuttings were done and I had to bulk out the sides of it.

Well guys, I've gotten a better look at the tracks from other custom creations online and have come to the conclusion that the current gray tracks in the power system kits are too wide for an accurately sized hull. On the otherhand the previous generation black tracks that came on such models as the Clone Wars Snail Droid from Episode III Revenge of the Sith look about right. I don't have a job at the moment and have exhausted my legos with my recent creation of a WH40k scale Reaver titan.
Cudos.

Someone at my local GW made his Baneblade RC, and he put it on display in the store for a while. I was impressed with that until I saw his RC Leman Russ! No joke! I have no idea how he fit it in...

Ive done a Pather rc custom tank before and you can use a rubber band material and the glue the track on to that or you can do a metal version (which is easier on a russ) which you connect the track sections with metal pins. Fixing the motor on one of the wheels sould be easy, just add some lube to the inside to help the whells turn instead of using glue.
