Not bad of an idea. I ended up getting a whole bunch of cheap little H3 die-cast cars for my guard. You can easily slap a gun on it and turn it into an awesome little sentinel conversion. If you have an idea like that, I'd say just go for it, man. Show us some pics!

Funny, I want to add some Attack Vehicle to my army too, similar to HumV. I'll probably make mine from a Space Marine Land Speeder though, adding SM bike wheels, buffing up the frame of the speeder with plasticard and maybe closing the front so I don't have to model IG drivers (not yet sure if I'll be lazy on this or not ;D ) Just some thoughts, good luck with your project.

the only problem that I can forsee is if you ever go to a tournament and someone wants to be a tool. If the model is recognizable (Meaning someone can point to it and say that is model X from Y line from Z manufacture) then the promoters are probably not going to allow you to use that model in the tourny.
For a friendly game I say go for it and make it up. If you plan on doing tournament I'd advise against it. There are a lot of great guys in a tourny, but that one tool is usually the one who no one really likes.

Blah, you gotta hate those nitpickin tool trees... I used some weird plastic Hummers from some old toy line they were perfect, but then I decided to melt em and leave them on my board as terrain

Well, if you have acces to Imperial Armour Volume V, you can use one as a Centaur (I will probably do that myself). Or, you can use it as a beefed-up Sentinel.... or a reduced Chimera! Depends on what you want to do with it, attack vehicle or transport, and what weapon you plan on sticking on the thing
