Well, here are the first pics installment for my IG project. As a quick reminder, this is going to be a small, elite force (think SAS, Ranger/Deltas and the likes), primary made of infantry and some light vehicle support. The official army list isn't finished yet, so some of the squads might change (from Veteran to Stormtroopers, and so on). But that's for later, for now, lets have some pictures Some infiltrator with special light-weight carapace armor Several Stortroopers/Grenadier conversion And a paint test - should probably add some higlights and shade to the clothes and smooth the other highlights, but that's the basic scheme. Enjoy ;D

Thanks for the reply guys! cobaltsentinel: Funny, your the second to ask about this dude. I'm not yet sure if he's gonna be a sergeant (maybe second in command of some squad). He's actualy firing his modified hellgun one-handed while drawing his combat knife. The model used is one of the old metal Space Marine Scout. I just cut the weapons and file some details then add greenstuff for the armour and glue some new weapons. The hellgun is a modified plastic SM scout sniper rifle - I'm planning on using these modified Hellguns here and there in the army. I have more veterans/custom stormtroopers yet to be finished, I'll post pictures of them when they'll be ready (University is slowing me down ) JP

College has slowed my army work to a grinding halt. I always thought that SM scout snipers would make great stormtrooper stand-ins, with how their rifles resembled hellguns. Keep up the good work; I look forward to seeing more!

All right, I have some more pictures (old ones, but new here...oh well) Here's a couple more Grenadiers and some PIP pictures of the first Grenadiers I think I've been lazy on the clothes' shading ad highlight. What do you guys think? Next time should be more pics of the vets and special weapon guys. Cheers! ;D

Thanks guys, I'll try to finish some new stuff and post it ASAP. Psycho: Well, if you're talking about the protective goggles, the trick (well my trick anyway, there's probably a better way to do it) is to shape the GS in the shape you want and then make a fine crease (hope its the correct term, I speak French most of the time... but I have other qualities ) with a modelling knife. Most important and hard thing to do is keep the line constant over all the goggles. As for armor, it depends on what shape your are looking. Basicly, you can just flatened a piece of GS on the mini than you push on the sides of the GS "slate" to give it the desired shape. I think the easiest part are the kneepads: you just need to make a pyramid shape on the knee and pull and push the GS until you're happy with it. Hope that helps, if not tell me and I'll figure a way to explain it better.

Give me a "U"! Give me a "P"! Give me a "date"! Give me an "UPDATE"!!!! At last, I was able to finish some of the conversion I've been working on for a while. And, I also managed to get my hands on a camera to take piccies So here we go: First members of Special Weapon Squad (might swap one of those for a Demo-charge though) Some troopers, designation as yet unknown A sergeant and comm-officer. The sergeant is one of my favorite conversion And finally, a little try at custom-made Grenade-launcher as I think the standard one are a little too big: The GS work is a bit rough and I still need to find how I will model the grenade clip, but you get the idea. C&C are welcome!

That lasgun-to-bolter conversion is AWESOME! Reminds me of a UMP! You don't mind if I copy it?

Extremely awesome. Your green work and conversion skills are light years ahead of my own.
Only suggestion I could find is to maybe try blending a bit on your highlights. They look a bit harsh with the scheme you have. Beyond that, top top notch.

Cobaltsentinel: Thanks! Please go ahead, it's not as if I haven't copied some of this stuff from other people, so.
Sirandrewd: I agree, higlights are a little too harsh, mainly on the black parts, I'll rework that soon. I was painting a batch of 12 Grenadiers at the same time but seeing that I would be cutting on cleanliness too much, I think I'll go back to my 3 by 3 habit. So next time should be three grenadiers all painted with mini-problems solved ;D

My rank and file troops were painted 10x and they ended up also having quick, harsh highlighting. I spent a lot more time on my Veterans and am doing them 2 at a time and they look a lot better.

Well, Ive been quite lazy of late. It's exam time right now, so when I'm done filling my head with stupid math theorems, I don't feel like tackling my paints and mini.
Still thinking about the army list and fluff though. If you have suggestion, feel free to help.
