I know that the chimera kit doesn't come with a heavy bolter mount for the turret, which is unfortunate since that's how I would like to arm all of mine. I was just wondering if anyone has converted such a thing and has some useful tips.

Im aware that forgeworld make them, perhaps look at those, then formulate some plans, most likely involving spares from heavy weapons squads and plasticard.

The one that forge world has is the linked heavy bolter. You can actually do that with the new plastic heavy bolters. I will take a picture of an old one that I made from the older parts. It is fairly easy conversion to make.

I've done it, its quite simple; you take a heavy bolter from the heavy weapons team set and glue it onto the turret! Or two of them if you like, that looks good too.

Ok cool, I knew I was going to use the heavy weapons team h.bolter but I wasn't sure if it was too large or anything. Thanks y'all!

Since most IG players have a gross heavy weapons surplus of roughly 3 heavy weapons per 2 HW teams (the tripod mount and the missile launcher), then I calculate you should have enough heavy bolters to experiment with.
Oh, and two infantry flamers makes a nice hellhound.
