Its a real technical problem to do that, we experiments first with an leather strap like on the artworks, it never works because of the weight of the shoulder parts, if you fix it to high, you have the problem that you can´t do an aiming with both handed weapon handling, cause the shoulders press on your neck. This armour parts are the greatest problems we had at the construction of the carapace. But I know what you mean.....at the elysian armour its more easier to do, cause the pads are mostly on the upper side of the shoulder and not on the arm... Greets....Watts

Maybe you could make a curve-shaped gap around the sides which faces the neck, if you know what I mean

If you mean, what I mean.....you have an absolutly different form to the mini or artwork shoulder pads because you must correct the inner front side of the pad?? Greets Watts

I'll start saving now and I'll have to try and find a way to reverse it so that the turret is at the front. or move to germany, for a bit of time, and get your lots help, then move back to england . Always wanted to see Germany.

Hehehe.... If you are here, you are welcome... The turret problem is really a problem...I know only a freaky factory in britain which turns an FV432 in an german StuGIII (turning the front side of the tank in the backside of the tank) it is technical brilliant...and looks very good...but setting only the turret the front place is difficult because of the drivers position and the engine in the front..... Hehe...saving money is not my best discipline.... Greets Watts

I have a plan of how to get round it, I just need to find some schematics or plans for it, and I'm away. I seem to be good at planning this sort of stuff, its the doing it that I found troubling .

looking at it, the FV432 would fit a rhino better than a Chimera I think. grr. need a transport with a rear hatch only and a turret at the front.

I hope you know that an wheeled tank is an completly other thing as an tracked, it should be easier to remove an complete upper hull side of an APC and weld an new one together as change the transmission and axle system of an wheeled tank... and you must have many equipment for handle this heavy parts.........the engine of the ferret weights 750kgs...and thats only a little 6 cylinder RR B60Engine... Greets Watts Ah never mind, it's a simple idea, I just can't explain it clearly, but I know if it would be a good solution (my idea) you would already have thought about it! zumbaz

dude i love that ferret but i do see what you mean, if its only the engine then what about swapping it with a second hand car one? .....just dont know if it would be compatible, but what you need is a good fitter so im not much help (im a machinist ) inquisitor lord graenis first off putting tracks on it is a very VERY bad idea, first off it would never work! and buying something like a BTR or BMP would be more trouble than the ferret. ok dont shun me but i like the ferret! if you saw the pic's of my armored cars i saw the ferret as inspiration to build some of it (you can get to my photo bucket from the link at the bottom) .........keep it the same just make it more "guard" like and it would be so cool!! oh and you wont get the hassles of problems that would be made form making it into a rhino or something everything looks cool man keep it up! oh and itericwatts you rock! haha edit: um what about those dimensions for the lasgun? would love to make one

;D nice idea with your car... a little overdressed but looks very cool--- will the Mutt carry your little extra armour in real...?? But with faked armour it would be a nice car to support the squad.. There are two problems changing the engine of the ferret. First you need the power , because after all...there is an weight near 4.2to ........I think only an truck engine is the right one... then this engine must fitt in the small engine room of the ferret...and over the engine is an tank like a saddle. The B60engine is an small, long (6 cylinders in an line) engine...! Next problem is the insurance....I will explain that: If I get an insurance and tax like an serial truck or car, in germany it get paid per litres of cubic capacity and the environmental protection standart.....hehehe... ::)built in 1961, 4.2litres ,129 horsepowers......my money is gone away...! But there is the way to get an license for an historical vehicle....then its an very low insurance and tax. The only bad taste on this is, the vehicle must be in an origin condition ....do you know what I mean?? I can´t rebuild the ferret with an REO engine or something else if I try to get that. PS. I opened an new thread about the lasgun...in painting and conversion.

Wow..........that's a lot of effeort you've put in to full size IG gear.......I might have to see about getting to a German Games Day just to see you guys all kitted out in person.
Jeez, a 4.2ltr engine would be that bad to insure? I'd hate to think what my 7.3ltr would cost to insure there, lol.

Show us more pics of that staghound. Since i have done a few models of staghounds (and they cost $70 AUS for a Tamiya one or Italeri one ) I would just like to see your one from different angles. Personally, i would make that a a pure green with weather marks on it. Just do what you like with it and hope you can find a cheap engine for it Regards, Daniel

If you can insure that as an truck , then its ok....it get paid per ton.....
But my ferret can´t be insured as an truck only as car...
What type of car you are using?? Greets Watts

Very nice car...the wrong colour, but an really nive car ;D For this typ of car ( Pickup/ 2 or 3 Seats) you can get the tax for trucks in germany. But not with an king size cabin. there is written that the place for loading must be greater as the place for the passengers.... 7.3ltr....respect Greets Watts
