That battleline that was drawn hadnt lasted too long. We were back on the move right away, how can you set a specific battleline against something that spreads so damned fast and strikes even faster? You cant. We found that out the hard way. Our chimera stopped at a MCB(mobile command bunker) surrounded by tanks, foxholes and trenches dug into the small park, directly dead center was a statue of a guardsman with script carved beneath it on a plaque. As the tankers fueled up me and the boys took a step outside to stretch our legs. The "outpost" was more like a full base, rows of troopers marching past, commissars standing on tanks shouting propaganda to the passing troops. Officers panicked at the possibility of the entire planet becoming enveloped by the virus. Many deserters were rounded up, and stood up against a wall while troopers under the commissariat readied their guns and took aim. I wondered to myself, why are we killing eachother instead of killing the infection, then they fired, all the men dropped to the ground.
The tank was filled up and just in time. We heard stubbers ring through the air from the foxholes as a dozen infected ran from an alley, chasing after a trooper as he runs for his life, only to catch a bolt from a nearby commissar perched atop a leman russ. I jumped to attention and ran to the tank, took a seat and waited for it to start up. The engine revved and the tank buckled as we took off. The Vox operator in the squad snagged a thin small battlefield observation monitor from the MCB and hooked it up to the vox, giving it a feed from all cameras in the area. On the monitor I saw the unspeakable. Thousands of them running down the streets, an old woman and what looks to be her grand daughter running for their lives, but it is useless, they are swallowed up by the horde and emerge as infected. Then the vox operator pauses and stares blankly at the screen. He breaks down in tears and curses, he spots his wife in the mass of infected and reaches for his pistol. I stop him, grabbing his pistol. "Get a friggin grip man!" I shout, over the gunfire from outside. He stops, he hears something...we all do... There is a banging at the door, followed by screams, screams and footsteps. I flip the monitor around only to see that the tank is now surrounded by infected and many of the troopers have fled, and regrouped into small pockets of firing squads, the leman russ tanks spit out bolts and mow down infected by the dozens. Thank tank spins around, the weapons fire, destroying many infected around us, I look through the viewport on the hull lasrifle only to see the face of an extremely pissed off infected screaming into the small monitor, I fire, melting his head into a fine goo. The treads roll, crunching up infected as we push our way out of the blood bath, trouble seems to follow us. The vox operator grabs hold of one of the hull lasguns and opens fire, screaming, swearing and spewing alot of random gibberish. I cant make out a word. Then he does the unthinkable. He grabs the meltagun from one of the troopers sitting down and drags him with it, he pops the top hatch. "Hey fella, what the hell?" The meltaman shouts. The Vox man sprays the enemy with meltafire while letting loose with an insane laugh. Then he calmly gives the meltaman back the cannon and shuts and locks the hatch, you could never tell anything had happened...he was calm and...what worried me most was, he was smiling... Its funny how the infection can also take a toll on your mentality...

Thanks alot for the feedback guys! I should probly change the name...since safron is...well, its a seasoning...I did not know that... But umm, I dont think its good enough for black library, well I dont think so... But damn it would be cool. I just do this for fun, its always just made up as I go along, but if I wanted to I could sit down, plan out a long arse story that actually has some structure and plausable story line to it, and it would actually be GOOD...maybe...well, I guess. I mean...well, forget it. Thanks for the feedback guys! Update by the weekend I hope!

The treads squeal as we come to a halt. The dead claw at the armoured hull, the tanks ammo had run dry, no bolts, the multilaser had run dry as well. The stubber needed a new cartridge and nobody dare lift the hatch to reload it lest they had a death wish. The las rifles in the hull were pretty much useless, the dead had swarmed us, and we were out of gas...
Many of the troopers took off their rebreathers and lit up crude cigars and makhorka rolls. We were screwed, there was no way out. Then we heard this noise, the sound of bullets and bolts hitting the hull. "What the hell?" A trooper shouted, taking off his helmet and pressing his ear against the side of the tank. A bolt passed through the hull and into his head. "Holy nuts!" The medic shouted over the racket outside as he reached for his med pack before realising the trooper was dead. We were under fire from our own troops. They had gotten orders to fire on anything that might spread the infection or pass it through the new containment zone. The crew up front were panicking, fidgeting around in their seats, cutting loose from their seat belts and buckles. They flash the search light as a sign that we are not infected or hostile. They dont stop firing at us. We check the monitors, there are infected running at us from behind, but they are a fair distance away. We drop the back hatch and run out into the yard guns blazing at the infected as the tank is riddled with bullets, giving us temporary cover. We run to a nearby shopping center and take cover. We hear the whistle of artillery rounds making their way through the clouds and coming down on us. Explosions everywhere. They are small mortar shells at first, until finally they bring in the bassies. The last thing I see is a large explosion that envelopes most of the street. I go blind and pass out amongst my dead comrades and the rubble that was once the shopping center. I wake up months later in a field hospital, my eyes are damaged and I cannot see for another 4 weeks. The infection had been set under control, or so they say. Many rumours circulating saying that the governor militant expects to use the infection as a weapon against the enemies of the imperium. I ignore it and go back to sleep.
End!

Yup, its over! I had to end it soon. But...well...dont tell anybody...but... The infection might just spread to another imperial colony... Mm-hm... So, watch for it. I plan to actually structure the next story(stories?) and actually put thought into it aside from just making it up as I go.
