got to play a game against my best friend's Chaos Marines, it was particularly exciting because his army looks amazing and I can hardly ever get him to play.
my list:

His list was 2 ten man CSM squads with heavy bolters, a Defiler, a Vindicator, a Chaos Dreadnought with multi melta, a Sorceror lord in terminator armor and 5 chaos terminators with a somewaht random assortment of weapons
we played on a 4x4 section of floor with a few big ruins, a couple small ruins, some low walls, and a crashed spaceship from the battle of macragge.
we ended up rolling annihilation with pitched battle deployment(uh oh...)
he got first turn and set up his army in a wide line with his CSM squads and dreadnought on the left, his terminators and sorceror in the center, and his vindicator and Defiler on the far right.
I set up with my LR facing down the Vindicator and the Defiler, my chimera full of grenadiers and commissar with powerfist got placed infront of his CSM squads and his Dreadnought, my HSO, JO and one squad with a missile launcher set up in one of the large ruins near the center while my other missile launcher squad takes cover behind some spaceship wreckage near my LR, light infantry squads then take up forward positions, one is able to hide itself completely behind a small ruin just a little over 12 inches from the mail line of CSM, the other set up behind the largest piece of spaceship wreckage, exactly 18 inches away.
(turn one Chaos)
on turn one he moves forward with everybody and is only able to shoot with his defiler, vindicator, and deadnought. Deflier opens fire on the Leman Russ and scatters off target with its battle cannon, hitting nothing, its reaper autocannon however manages to score a crew shaken against the side armor of LR, the Vindicator then fires and blows off the main gun on the Leman Russ, finally the dreadnought fires at the chimera with its multi melta and misses
(turn one IG)
on my turn my light infantry springs out from behind cover and hits 4 CSM with its flamer and another 4 with rapid firing lasguns, he loses 2 after he takes his saves, second LI squad advances forward and rapid fires, killing none, finally the chimera fires with its multi laser and kills one more.
now my squads hiding in the ruins take on the second squad of CSM in the center, two missle launchers and 2 autocannons later he is down another 2 CSMs( I really should have practiced what I preach and sent all my shots towards the squad that was already down by 3, but I took a chance because I thought I was within range with my plasmagun, I wasn't.)

he rapid fires with his bolters and heavy bolter at the squad who roasted 2 of his guys, the entire first LI squad is wiped out.
next he moves forward with his second squad and rapid fires over the wreckage and kills 4 men from my second LI squad
his dreadnought takes another shot at my Chimera and misses again!(hooray!)
Vindicator shoots at my LR and scatters into my missile launcher squad hiding near the Leman Russ, 3 are hit and killed, the defiler fires at my Leman Russ and also scatters, landing on my second LI squad and killing them all.
(turn two IG)
next my Chimera charges forward, grenadiers disembark, open fire on dreadnought with a meltagun and a plasma pistol, score immobilized and weapon destroyed(multimelta)
Leman Russ fires with its hull mounted lascannon into the side of his Vindicator and scores a 5 for penetration, Vindicator is destroyed and becomes a wreck.
missiles and 1 autocannons shoot at the Deflier, score nothing.
HSO autocannon and plasmagunner shoot at CSM squad in the center and kill 1
(turn three Chaos)
he opens fire with his heavy bolter and rapid fires into my grenadiers, only one is killed.
his terminators and 2nd CSM squad wipe out the rest of my missile launcher squad hiding near the LR, Defiler lobs a shell that stuns my Leman Russ then assaults and destroys the battle tank.
(turn three IG)
I open fire on his CSM squad with my meltagun, plasmapistol, and boltpistol, killing two.
I open fire with my Chimera at his 2nd CSM squad and kill 2, then I hit that same squad with a missile launcher, a plasmagun, 2 autocannons and a bunch of lasguns, killing 2 more.
I assault his squad with my grenadiers and commissar, the combat is a draw and 2 member of each squad are killed.
(turn four Chaos)
defiler destroys my Chimera, finally getting a direct hit, CSMs with heavy bolter open fire into the ruins and kill 1 guardsman, close combat with commissar and grenadiers see 2 CSMs die , they check morale at -2 and pass.
(turn four IG)
I throw everything I have at the defiler, nothing scratches it, close combat kills 3 grenadiers and one CSM, stormtroopers take a Ld test a -2 and pass!
(turn 5 Chaos)
defiler and terminators shoot into the ruins and kill off everyone in my command squad but the HSO and Commissar, HSO takes a morale test and passes(phew!)
few remaining members of his second CSM squad decide to join the close combat, the remaining grenadiers and commissar are finally killed.
(turn 5 IG)
again I throw everything I have at the Defiler, finally one lucky krak missile scores a hit and I roll a 6, defiler explodes!
at the end of turn 5 we rolled a 1, game over.
(Conclusion!)
since I lost the most squads I lost the game, but after all that I feel like I achived the moral victory, he agrees and thats is all that metters to me!
At the end he had a crippled Dreadnought, 5 CSMs and his Lord and Terminators
I had 1 JO squad with autocannon and granade launcher
9 guardsmen with a granade launcher and missile launcher
and my HSO and 1 Commissar all bunkered down in the ruins as the filthy spawn of chaos advanced for the kill, but hopfully this is only the begining, they're not dead yet and I'll be damned if they ever run away!
