Has anyone heard anything about them releasing new rules for the iron warriors??? im asking because i have about 4000 points of them in my closet and since the new chaos codex came out they have been just sitting there and i would really like to put them to use again... without striping and repainting the entire army

I heard a rumor that Codex: Chaos Marine Legions is coming out within the next few years. Not totally reliable though. Its mostly just wishful thinking.

in my expereince there is no such thing as a cheesy army any one army can beat any other. people who use "oh that army was to cheesy to beat" are just trying to justify losing

The only thing that was changed is that you can't field 12 Obliterators anymore and that you're now restricted to 3 Heavy Support choices... So do you guys want some cheese to your whine or will you stop?
They're still an awesome to look at and play with army...

Mathia, if you have 4000 points of Iron Warriors, that probably means that you still have a force of Iron Warriors that fits within the current codex for CSM, right? You can still play them, and use the normal, non-specific deity CSM legion. As our wise Warlord Knight has said - they look incredible on the battle field, hell that's why GW gave them some of their own miniatures. Use your Chaos Tech-marine equivelent as a Chaos Lord with some Daemonic stuff (I don't know what it would be, haven't even really looked too closly at the newest 'dex) and go from there.

right limit your obliteraters a bit and leave the basilisk at home and you still have a nice big chaos army to play with, you just loose your special toys.

Actually just the Basilisk and 3 Obliterators... The rest is the same. Use the Warsmiths as Sorcerors or Lords and well go back to having fun with that army.

I field my IW as plague marines now. i call them "cyborg upgrades" cuz i always used iron hands + IW bits in conversions to make them all techie. the FNP works with that and plague marines are just so freakin' hard to kill. i actually ended up fielding way more troops with the same amount of tanks and added a dreadnaught in my typical games so the new dex actually made my army that much better. i've seen some really creative stuff to keep the CSM armies fluffy. (like fielding alpha cultists as scouts in a loyalist SM army from their new dex... i mean alpha are still "loyalist" anyway) You might not be able to use the bassi but you can still use all the other tanks. i think the only army that really got killed was night lords.
As for the rumors of a new chaos dex... don't hold your breath. I've heard the same rumors and i've also read an article from the guy that's supposedly doing it that he says he's not doing it. (don't ask me where, i can't remember cuz it was before daemons came out)
So no matter how much we want our true marines to be returned to their fluffly ways, i don't see it happening any time soon.
Death to the false Emperor my brothers.

It was a little bit ago, but GW actually did mention an upcoming Chaos Legion Codex. It's official, BUT it's "in process of consideration." Which is code for, "We've got no fracking idea when it'll happen." But at least they're talking about it.
