wotcha. thought i would through this out to all the old the bold and the damn stupid ones like me that for what ever stupid reason decided to listen to a recruiting SGT. if this has all ready been done sorry but I'm fairly new here. making new friends and such.  i will start off by saying I'm a remf. but wasn't always so. not bothered if you use veiled speech or stay vague after all we got to stay safe.  Any way tell me bout your IG regiments then tell me how you put what you know for real onto a table top i know i do it. never bloody works though damn gods of dice LOL ;D |

well sammy as you know i am ex Royal Green Jackets (now the Rifles BAH)....whilst there i started as your usual rifleman sandbag...got bored went on and did the sharpshooters course but never managed to find my way onto the sniper training...probably got to be a shiny marine for that...had a spate in a Milan team which was ok..if you like life on a simulator...i didn't so ended the last of my six years playing with 88 mil mortars..easy life go everywhere in boughtons or lannies...constant hot tea and food and your day comprise of sit about wait for the call...put down a few rounds and then back to the tea and butties....well unless its your annual tests...then its a pain in the arse...cft's with 55lbs burgens and a mortar baseplate.... proving that you know how to bring and set up the mortar....proving you can still shoot and handle a sa80 etc etc....
As for how it relates to my IG....well the army is based off the 34rd and 52nd Ox and Bucks which later went on to be part of the RGJ's..i am currently working the fluff to fit in some of the regiments history...and trying to decide if i should have a major Howard style commander or really dig down and have a Sharpe...(sean bean)
Wanted mortars in the army but the ig mortars got replaced by a nice big basi...ar as90 if you will...
As for tactics...i try to have fun and get some good all section scale section fire and manouvre going on..but this is not the game for it really...as you say..blasted god of dice.

a good start to the thread. as for me im still serving with six months left. then im posted to 1st civie strasse battalion. been a remf for all my time in one form or another. it will be good to see a as90 style basi though would make neat bit of moding. go for a howard type charecter he's suitably ecentric. as for tactics i may say that popping smoke and right flanking doesn't work as well against emplaced necrons as it was supposed to with russians.

Well, I'm a MP to summarise....but as you are British troopers you may know what gendarmerie is....I made a bit of combat training (very few because we are not intended to fight at great scale, not our primary job!), lot's of police training (arrests, red tape and so on...) and I want to incorporate my squadron "intervention platoon" (a kind of swat on smaller scale).
As for my IG, I do droptroops because I found them fluffily nice (and very unusual!!I like what is different!) and fell in love with Elysian, don't know why nut I liked them at once when I read experimental rules in WD....
But I'd like to have a small force of Arbitrators...kind the same job as I do!!! The police stuff I mean!! and riotpolice too!!

thats a great idea loads of nasty french space riot coppers. the necromunda enforceres would be a good start for that. you could do a hell hound conversion that looked like a water cannon. put some kinda rough rider type affair in. should i put some kinda unfair joke about only fitting reverse to your vehicles though.
i'm joking of course i mean i'm so far back that my washing goes closer to the front line then i ever do.

You know guys, I 'd like to have a real adeptus arbites codex......but I intend to use Witch hunters army list to make them. Just change the name and convert figs and it is all done!!

i can see that not working unless you got loads of commisars to stop the line shattering. and i tried something similar and some damn termies shredded my line to pieces without the commisars the just legged it.

the which hunter thing would work with a little bit of selection from the ig main codex you should create some kinda judge dredd style commander for it all . would be fun to play against as a human mutinereeing army.
