We've gotta have normal infantry now? No storm as troops, did I miss something? Where does it say this?

yeah with all those tank variants it wouldn't surprise me in the least if an Armored Company makes it into the dex.

As many rumors as have made it out already, I'll be shock, stunned, and Floored if news as big as That hasn't been leaked, and is true.

As much as I like all these new things, and crap, what about the other regiments? Valhallen, Vostrian, Modian, is it really just going to be Cadian and Cattachan? this kinda sucks.

Lt. Renen did not confirm armoured company. But! Since you can apparently have 3 LR's in a squadron, for a max of 9 LR's, not to mention valk's, vendetta's, hellhound and sentinel squadrons, plus mechanized infantry, you'd be able to take minimum infantry and the rest as tanks for annihilation...

I hope that they drop the cost of the Chimera much akin to the rhino point drop. 30-35 points to make our boys more mobile would be amazing

They're going down from 85 points (because you gotta buy the multi-laser and the hvy bolter) to 55 points, which includes the hull and turret weapon, not to mention some "Mobile Command Vehicle" special rule. No idea what that means. Possibly related to the "orders" system we're going to be seeing? But basically, they've dropped by 30 whole points, and if you bought a stubber with the previous version, it costs 97 points, but if you buy a stubber now as compared to a chimey with a stubber then (well, then meaning after May 2nd...) you have reduced it by 32 points.

At a very rough estimate, with some guesses at the cost of Command Sections, I'm thinking you'll be looking at about 750-800 Points for a Mechanized HQ and two Troops Choices. At 1750, that should still leave you room to take 6 basic Russes. If you're willing to have your basic Units slogging, that would free up enough Points for two more. If you play 2000 Points, you could probably max out and fit in 9 Tanks, even with some upgrades.

But, there is the rumour of taking carapace hardened veterans as troops. That would mean you would only be required 2 squads in chimey's, rather than 6 squads mounted up, plus your manditory H.Q choice. If that rumour is true, it would mean a lot fewer scoring units, but a great amount of shooty killy tanks for annihilation!
And don't forget, play apocalypse with this stuff should be a blast! b

Hmm, I must have misread that one, I thought it was just upgrading the Vet Squad that you could take as part of the Platoon to Carapace. If you've got that right, that comes to about 350-400 Points or so for the HQ and two Troops, which should be enough to max out to 9 stripped down Russes at 1750, and some pretty nice variety at 2000.
And yes, Apoc is going to be fun. Two of the new Russes will bring me up to a full Armoured Company, with a Squadron each of regular, Executioners, and Exterminators, plus a command Tank that I haven't decided on yet. Need some more Arty, a StormBlade and a StormLord still, too.

Excecutioner: Plasma-death-tank. Apparently broken as hell. Will be the bane of all things that rely on heavy armour and not cunning.
Nova cannon- Think a hellhound, but with ordanance instead of a flame template. Ignores cover. S6 AP4, so basically a souped-up griffon that ignores ALL cover. I'll still take the Griffon though.
Exterminator: 4 Autocannon shots, re-rolling misses. Now, since this means about three hits per turn from the turret weapon alone, this is going to be a premium infantry killer. 9 HBs and 4 ACs? Dear god, that could wipe out an entire squad of aspects or Fire Warriors or 'Ard Boyz in a single turn of shooting.
Leman Russ: Ol' faithful. Reliable, versatile and still scary as hell. I reckon we're still going to see a lot of players- veterans in particular- keep using the standard russ simply because it kills everything short of the heaviest troops.
Demolisher- Still the Churchill AVRE of 40K- heavy, slow and terrifying at short range.
Vanq- gotta love this baby. Long-ranged death.

This is going to be even more fun than the when I first took Gargoyles against the local Eldar guy with the 26 Harlequins. From the CAD pics I saw, I'm pretty glad I've got the Forge World ones, too. The new ones look like they're going to be kind of lame.
