I think I might do up some DE if they get a new Codex and a plastic line. I've always like their 'Hellraiser' motif.

i've got the DE dex, it says 2ND EDITION! right on the front.
a friend of mine just got about 2500 points worth of DE on ebay for $300, it's sick cuz he used to play with them back in the day, so it's what he started with. He typically takes us out back and spanks us screaming "Who's your master!?"
I.E. They're fracking broken and need some love.
P.S. there's a lot of models that are supose to be coming out with the dex. Hopefully hellions don't look so retarded anymore.

That is the second edition printing of the 3rd edition warhammer codex.
I'm looking right at it as I type this.

honest mistake, it is a misconception that comes up quite a lot...
probably because the book has got that great big Second Edition printed right on the front.

either way the book is crazy old and needs an update. the fact that it's NOT the next dex to come out is just stupid. i for one can't wait, i probably won't play with them, but it'll be nice to see them more.

yeah, i think they will have a MAJOR boost in playability with the new dex, and hopefully new models too. idk why but i hate the current plastic warriors.

The new models should be sharp and pointy. Y'know, so that the player constantly cuts him/her self. That would be taking the hobby to its limit.

while ritual scarification may be fun and stylish, inflicting pain and misery on others is where its at, take those point new dark eldar and throw them at your opponent like tiny plastic shuriken, aim for the eyes and throat, that is what a true dark eldar would do.
that emo stuff is for the craftworlds...

Ymmot, you wrote the last post at 0:00 in my time...scaaaaryyyyy.
I would love to get a new DE codex. And some new DE minis. The only DE mini I've got is the warrior that came with the WD when the first DE codex came.

yeah im not really into the current warrior models. they just look too... rigid. you know?
they just stand there. i want them RUNNING! STABBING! SHOOTING! doing DE stuff! askjbaksjvba. but i think they are hardcore and when the new dex comes out and new models come out i might be inclined to make an army of them.

It's all true, but I would only injure my opponent if I won while playing DE (I don't plan on playing DE, though). Oh, and I'd play the whole time with the Gollum voice... precioussss...

Well with bladey/spikey eldar when something dies you just look at the other dude with a strait face and say, "You killed it. You remove it from the board." and watch the blood drain from his face.

That would only work if it looked like I might get tetanus or something from doing that. Otherwise I'd take advantage of the opportunity to serve the Emperor, and pick it up gently. And then drop it on the floor. *Crash!* Aww, my bad. It slipped. Show me a tear, you emo xenos. Just kidding, by the way...

The "2nd edition" of the Dark Eldar codex is simply when they reprinted it. The book came out in '98, then about a year later they decided, "ya know what, I bet they could use some wargear and vehicle upgrades" (they didn't really have much of the first, and none of the second in the 1st run of the codex). So when they reprinted the 'dex, they included the new wargear and vehicle upgrades in it.
Blame Jervis Johnson. Every codex he ever wrote sucked monkey balls. He's one of those old school "Rogue Trader RPG" 40k players, so the codex has almost no variety because you're supposed to just "imagine it!" And then Andy Chambers wrote Space Wolves, allowing 20-man squads of Terminators, each with a Cyclone Missile Launcher and an Assault Cannon. Yeah, screw those guys.

It's a true story of anger and sadness. The DE are my favorite fluff enemies, what would I do w/o them? Sure regular space elves can fill that void, but the malice inherent in my current enemy of choice makes me look better...
