In Australian, that works out to be about $100, double the price of a Leman Russ. It is a bit over the top for only two tanks. Besides, the rules haven't changed since the old codex, so it is still a valid source. And for tournaments, be creative! Hell, the book costs 45 pounds, so copy the rules out of the old IG 'dex, and say it's from IAV1, which is too expencive and big to bring to the tournament. Eller

With the new rules the Exterminator ROCKS - Move upto 6" and still fire averything its got. And no more guessing ranges makes the griffon a better prospect (max scatter 6")

For us aussies the only time we can get it hands on is at the GamesDay which only happens once a year and if you live in Perth that makes it 50x harder! I still can't believe that GW doesn't value it brillance. It is the best tank to position between two groups of infantry and literally run the tank in a line with the guard. Gentlemen, please do not panic. Download the armoured company rules on GW's website and you will have all the nastiness you wish. uk.games-workshop.com/imperialguard/ac-vehicles/1uk.games-workshop.com/imperialguard/ac-armylist/1/Now please take note. Darkside wishes to say something. (Darkside: the removal of the Griffon and the Exterminator was not to save space. It was a ploy by games workshop, as they realised that they represented too much AP 4 firepower for the imperial guard to have and keep losing as they all wish. Plus they represented too great a threat to the emergant tau, tyranid and Eldar lists, and could have resulted in the IG actually being capable of taking on these armies in a balanced manner and still winning occasionally. So, they removed them from the codex, citing too little space, assuring everyone that they were still, indeed useable, and placed them in an inaccessible section of their webpage instead of being honest and simply removing them outright. Now, these two cult classics have been largely forgoten (you have no idea how annoying it is to put down a tank, have your opponet ask 'whuts that?' and have to spen half an hour trundling through rulebooks and explining that it is still game-legal) and we are forced to invest in more expensive pie-platers and infantry swatters. Ahem)

Your not allowed to field salamanders without his permission. However, if it was a friendly I don't see what in the name of all that is holy he could complain about, given that the salamander is only an autocannon-firing fast chimera with no transport.
