Ive been listening to alot of Eurobeat (across the pond they call it Hi-NRG i believe) or at least the good stuff from the genre with guitars and whatnot rather than the cringeworthy stuff... Also been listening to UVERworlds first 2 (only 2?) albums

I've been furiously into Nightwish lately. Especially their covers, such as Phantom of the Opera and Over the Hills. Their songs are perfect for any situation, driving, eating, chilling. Pretty much anything. I've never been a big metal fan before, but theres something about mercilessly headbanging for 6 minutes to operatic vocals and a hectic drummer.

As far as operatic vocals go its only in that style... Compared to real opera singers tarja is godawful... Quite fond of their phantom cover though. Covering thin lizzy should be illegal

Ha! For the hundredth time this weekend, I'm suffering Justin's House! The guy is a genius when it comes to keeping the child quiet!

That takes me back a few year. Used to love blasting that out in the old car. Now it's best not to draw attention to the motor I drive now. Everyone needs some half man half biscuit in the lives, start with this: m.youtube.com/watch?v=glB6ZJfrEzs

I'm a massive metal head but that was awful and not metal. .. It was EMO at best. As a rule of thumb if a genre has the word aggressive in it then it's to be avoided. I've not had the time to listen to my own music much this year, any free time I have is mostly used on the tv or pc... I've had to make do with radio 2 so it's not been to bad but yeah, I'm sure I've missed a lot of good stuff like bloodstock

I think you should relax, take a deep breath and listen to there hole album on YouTube because none of the lyrics are EMO at all, listen to it properly then judge my good man! Why should you avoid anything with aggressive in it? for all you know, you could discover another great band to add to the collection, don't judge music by a genre because you could be missing a master peice. Yea Bloodstock line was good! as well as Download Fest. What bands do listen too? Major Downer

Lamb of God are cool..
2 steps from Hell are my current favourite.
and I'm getting a lot of joy from listening to "epic music compilations" on you tube! (which is how I found 2 steps from hell).
Good images on those vids too!
