Is there any point to getting more than one?
I find people cry and whine anytime you pull out a FW model anyway.
Honestly FW models are over priced pointwise, so I am unsure why anyone cries about it..
Anyone else have this issue?
I really want to get a Baneblade. I have the shadowsword already... but its not like i ever get to use it.
Dont even get me started on my marauders :-(

The problem with Super heavies is that they are very hard to kill with a balanced force. Unless someone builds an anti armour force then they just won't have enough AT firepower to knock out a super heavy. Maybe if you tell your opponent first and he builds an army to fight it.
You could play an ambush mission where your opponent has sent up an ambush as your force moves up to the front line.

i only ever tend field my baneblade infreindlys. it can beet the hell out of anything that comes at it whilst soaking up tremendous amounts of damage.
Id go with AddictiveWoz's advice. i find people are much more willing to let you use FW models when you come up with a themed scenario for them.

Please stop digging up old threads. Most of the old threads have been recreated already and most of the people who participated in those threads have disappeared long ago. (and this thread was dead for more then 1 year)

Today we had a tanksgiving battle. I ended up bringing on my tanks from the back (Chose my Leman Russ, Bassie, Baneblade, Hell Hammer, and a sentinel) My opponent had lot's of tanks including a IG Leviathan. Talk about an impressive piece of scratch build. That Doom's day cannon is a killer literally. Anyhow, with the others on my side we concentrated firepower on the Leviathan and took it out in two rounds of firing. 5 Void shields, 5 structure points is a lot to contend with.
The weapons on the darned thing are as follows: 1 Dooms day cannon (slow fire 1 shot every other round) 1 Leviathan cannon D strength AP 1 6 twin linked Lascannons 6 twin linked Heavy bolters 1 twin linked Missile battery 6 heavy bolters 2 twin linked heavy flamers
It stands about a foot and a half tall and cost 1875 points to field (Not that the points really mattered in a game like this.
