*Stepps up on podium* Testing, testing. Is this thing on? Very well.
Aehm!
I have something of the utmost importance to share with you. I, Helmian have decided to start a side project beside my guard army, i intend to buy a space marine commander and two tac squads, and paint them up as Imperial fists. Now i'm thinking of buying two rhinos to to make this a highly mobile force.
Pros/Cons?

I'm doing the same thing
only with 3 free tac squads from AOBR plus one free AOBR Captian plus 5 free assault terminators(old metal ones, rebased.) plus a free metal dreadnought with twinlinked-lascannon plus a free metal Chaplain plus one tactical squad with all the bells and whistles plus one vindicator...
I gave one of the tac squads a meltagun and a plasmacannon and I've been having fun doing some basic head and weapon swaps on all my AOBR sergeants.
The Imperial Fists are siege experts, I wanted to make a list that illustrated this.

I tried to do something similar, but ened up just trading the SM for more Guard.
It might be a good idea to grab the SM Battleforce. That would also give you an Assault Squad (for that high mobility feel) and some Scouts (The guys who scouted ahead of the Spearhead). Then you would just need a Rhino and an SM Commander for the full force.

You would. I'd bet 5 bucks that your rep would go down faster than a drop pod

Captain Relic Blade=130
Combat Squad powerfist stormbolter=125
Combat Squad Powerweapon meltabomb=110
Dreadnought twin-linked lascannon=135
total 500
VS
No Good Stinkin' Orks (my own!)
Warboss bosspole kombi skorcha powerklaw 95
10 orks(sluggas) in trukk with reinforced ram 100
12 orks(shootas) with nob with powerklaw and bosspole in trukk with reinforced ram 152
12 orks(shootas) with nob with powerklaw and bosspole in trukk with reinforced ram 152
total 499
Here it is, my first shot at glory with my new Imperial Fists, will they be courageous and stubborn in defense, or shall they be steamrolled by the green juggernaut?

The Fists are a solid chapter.
However, sadly you can never be an Ultramarine, course you will still follow the teachings of the great Ultramarines.

Reds actually using scouting units is strictly against the fist's doctines their notorious for charging into battle with little to no intel on the enemy so if you want to play while using fluff don't use scouts or scout bikers or at least don't infiltrate with them and use lots of termies and devies and you MUST GET LYSANDER Show No Mercy! Feel No Pain! ...and you wanted pros and cons right pros the fists prefer ranged assualts cons lack of mid ranged stuff things tend to be either long range or short range

The Fists are noted for thier planning in their IA article and thier are several short stories about Imperial fist scouts.

.......no i'm pretty sure that imperial fists don't do that too....... i could be wrong though Well the new Imperial Fists novel are about a bunch of scouts, and they even have a short story in ''Heroes of the Space Marines'' featuring them setting an ambush.

Thats right, Fists do it all, poor man's Ultramarines.
anyway, I'm doing siege because that is what they are best known for, so no scouts for me.
