Sentinels! The rambo sentinel with 4 twin linked heavy bolters, 2 autocannons, 2 last cannons, 8 stormbolters, 6 hunter killer missiles, extra armour and a screaming deaf guy piloting it! Yes...I have built one! But for real, I guess a leman russ, its a fantastical tank. i rember that oin the other thread ;D

Do you actually use that rambo sentinel in games? I wouldn't want to have to come up against one! I am not that much of a fan of the Vanquisher. It's a good tank hunter, I'll admit but, against infantry give me a Leman Russ any day.

basilisk - even if you dont hit anything with its indirect fire all game, stick it behind a hill or building or something with a squad of ogryns/kasrkins/troops and watch how many of there units will try and charge it. Or, even better, place two, one at either side of the battlefield (behind cover still - dont do this if the terrain wont let you) and then split your forces in a defensive pattern. For some reason most people assume that the basilisk is harbringer of certain death (which it is, unless you've got bad eyesight) and throw lots and lots at them to try and take them down. *shrug* maybe its just the way i like to play, but me loves doing that with the big guns! yay for artillery

I think the basilisk is a one trick pony. It is good for nothing after second or third turn because of the 36 inch minium range rule. I agree with knight for once about the Macharius, that's a nice looking tank. I still think the Leman Russ is king though, might change though if I decide to purchase a plastic baneblade.......

The LR is nice. At least from the rule point of view. From it looks it's more like a brick on tracks. The Basilisk is nearly useless in smaller games, as like mabus said, after few turns unless you positioned it in a way that you can start firing directly. But then there is a huge chance that it will got shot too fast. But on big tables, it's worth hundreds of guardsmen...

Leman Russ, what's not to like, it has a Battle Cannon, Lascannon, twin Heavy Bolters and should you want it either a Storm Bolter or Heavy Stubber, plus a crap load of upgrades which admittedly any Guard tank can have and on top of all that it's decently priced also.

Demolisher is the best, if only because I play lots of city fight missions and my favourite tactic is hiding them behind a building.
Then I plow right through the building and blow up whatever's on the other side!
Great laughs.

Risky though, don't you have to take a dangerous terrain test? I bet you've slipped up once or twice doing that!

As a true blue, dyed in the wool zipperhead, I have joyfully taken my Armoured Company to battle in places tanks should not go. City fighting, jungles, the nightmare forest with rivers and hills my buddy made up, and even in a swamp map (swamp rules were in a WD a few years back, vehicles tend to sink, and troops can only move their armour save in inches). I won't ie to you,'Rough Terrain Moification' is an absolutely essential expendature for the treadhead on the offensive. That 5 point buy in has saved more of my vehicles than track guards or anti-mag combined. The odd building has collapsed on the occaisional 'Russ, and somtimes my hellhounds get stuck in wooded areas, but hey, its all part of the fun.
And pound for pound, point for point, the Vanquisher is still my favorite tank. Nothing says 'Frak You!' quite like a Vanquisher anti-armour shell as it smokes an enemy vehicle, or snipes an independant character that's made the greivous and terminal error of straying too far from his protective squads.

i agree with you the vanquisher looks reli cool with that plasma cannon turret its awesome shame i dont know the stats of it or i might consider getting 1, but for now the demolisher is my favourite for only 20 more points extra (when fitted with plasma cannon (side sponson)) its ensures when an arnament is destroyed it can still be as effective.. and also it provides a extra side and back armor great for tatics when lining tanks to stop men from being shot or even becoming invincible vs strength 4 weaponary and with that strength 10 turret it can take out the strongest opponents stupid choas lord take a demolisher blast on your head
