I have yet to play a real game with Sisters, but this is the list i am flipping over in my head... Its heavy infantry, and kind of a stand and shoot list. Could be used in Adepticon as well(mostly why i wrote it). Did not use any tanks....
Canoness
20 Battle Sisters --244 Veteran Melta
20 Battle Sisters --244 Veteran Melta
20 Battle Sisters --244 Veteran Melta
10 Retributors --184 Veteran 4 Heavy Bolters
6 Faith points. 71 Models. 3 Scoring units. 49pts for upgrades.
I was kinda thinking just sit back and shoot with Divine Guidance. The canoness i did not know how to fit in so i thought why not just send her out front to get shot(non kill point mission) and claim the extra faith...
Any thoughts?
Thanks Nox

so wait, just a Canoness without any weapons or equipment? Only a single weapon on each Battle Sister squad? No Book of St. Lucius?
Yes, you do have to actually buy the bolter or BP+CCW if you want them.

I think that is what the extra 49 points are for... (among other things maybe...)

Can you actually have a Cannoness with nothing?

Yes. She will have no weapons (use her base attacks in an assault, with no special rules, and no shooting at all). The only thing you don't have to purchase for her is power armor. Remember, this is a third edition codex.
I'd reccomend reducing the size of your Retributor squad so that you can free up points for BoSLs and flamers for your infantry squads, and to gear up your canoness. Perhaps you could also consider replacing the retributor squad with a celestian retinue for your Canoness.

Thanks Melissia, i was hoping you would respond.
I know i have to buy weapons for the canoness, just didnt know what i would want. Any ideas on a good kit?
Totally over looked the "any two..." in the special weapon options... You think just add a flamer to each and no melta?
And wow.... I did not see what the point of the book was for.. But i just read it and thought combat instead of shooting.. and wow...
I really like the Retributors. Seeing as i have 8 heavy weapons, i really wanted to use some. I will totally drop a few for the book though.
Thanks, Nox

The book provides permanent LD9 (cannot be lowered by anything) for normal squads and LD10 for the Canoness. Any friendly squad within 6" of a model with the BoSL recieves its benefits.
What do you want out of the canoness? Really, the best way to use her is the following: If the Canoness is solo-- no Celestian retinue-- then she should have a Jump Pack, Cloak of St. Aspira, BoSL, and either a blessed weapon or eviscerator, bare minimum. If she has a Celestian retinue, she can drop the pack and cloak. If you really do need her cheap, give her a Storm Bolter and BoSL to at least make use of her BS5.

I like the jump pack canoness. Which i have seen used in most lists. Blessed weapon seems best to me. However, she does seem so fragile by herself. I take a captain with jump pack relic blade in my marine list a lot, and hide him easily so im sure it wont be a big deal to get her behind terrain.
Lol and you already answered my next question about the book effecting the squad its bought for. Thanks.
Ill tinker some more and have an updated list tonight.
Do you think i have a decent plan with shooting using divine guidance evryturn? Viable tactic?
Thanks, Nox

You probably don't understand the Faith Points system.
1: Certain squads or units are worth X faith points
2: Faith points are the total amount you can use per battle
3: The only way you earn more than the points you start with is if faithful units (veteran superiors or seraphim/celestians-- not veteran seraphim/celestian superiors) die
4: If a squad has no Faithful models, it cannot use Acts of Faith. As an addendum, the squad cannot use Acts of Faith if joined by a non-faithful unit other than the Priest unit shown in C:WH.
So you have 6 Faith Points for the entire game unless a Faithful unit dies. That affords you 2 turns of shooting with your footslogging Battle Sister Squads. It'd be best to use them ONLY when you are in Rapid Fire / Flamer range, and save the other three points for other Acts of Faith-- or more Divine Guidance if the enemy squads don't go into assaults with yours.

Right, my bad. Should not have said everyturn. Just for rapid fire which ill save it for. When the canoness dies she gives faith to the total, correct? My original thought was just to get her killed to gain the faith points...

Yes, with the exception of Celestine, all Faithful characters and squads grant faith points when they die. It's under the Martyrdom section of the Acts of Faith rules in C:WH.

I play my Cannoness as follows
Cannoness - Blessed Weapon - Cloak St Aspina +2 save - Inferno Pistol - Mantle of Ophelia - ignores first instant death hit - Book of Saint Lucius
Of course i take a retinue and an immolator for her as well. I took the Mantle only because i lose my Cannonmess to instant death every.bloody.game.

The Mantle is even more important with all the arty and strong blast templates the Imperial Guard has.
