I'm currently building an afrika korp army and i have a lot of tanks to convert so here the reason for my post I'd like to get pic to plastic models of these tanks if you have them:
half-track troop transport (chimeras)
Panther IV(leman russ)
tiger I (leman russ demolisher)
Panzer II Flamm (hellhoundS)
Jagdpanther V (basilisk)
if you have better ideas the please share...also I'm not going to buy cheap plastic models and use them as is I'm going to convert them using lots of GW parts (or is someone has a conversion tutorials for one of these I'll buy the stock model and convert it)
thanks in advance for these things

I would call the basilisk either a hummel , nashorn or Elephant. A jagdpanther had a hull mounted gun (destroyer tank hunter anyone?). I've seen some excellent Panzer conversions floating around the internet combining chimeras and leman russ. Good Luck with this. Please post pics, I would love to see what you come up with.

You are making a substansial mistake in not buying 1/48 scale models to convert with..... it will make your life much harder and make the project much more expensive. But its your call, and (more to the point) your money your throwing away.

Tiger is more like a Vanquisher and not like a Demolisher

i will be buying some 1/48 scale model to base my conversions on..(thats the point of the thread. to get finding the best models for the job)
i really have my eyes set on a tiger for the demolisher (even if the range of the tigers gun and the demolisher is not very comparable)
good call on the hummel throught.... i really like the hummel
i found a converted chimera (into a half-track) a few months ao but can't find it anymore(i did try the search) it also had a tutorial

Yeah, 1/48 models is the way to go here i think. Sounds like a good idea, and with an armored company list Afrika Corps would be legal, too! Yeah, for the Jagdpanzer use the forgeworld destroyer. It IS a jagdpanzer. Also check out using a rough riders slot for german-style military motorcycles.

Yeah, kraut bikers! That would look so cool, having a bunch of desert SS on bikes, very nice.

If you do make bikers, give them goggles.

No Jagdpanthers, Hummels, Panthers, Panzer II flamm tanks in the Afrika Korps from what I know. Tigers were a tad rare too. Also not as many Half trakcs are there were in the East. Most of it was motorized and a lot of it had captured British trucks too.
Funny thing is, the dice I use are Afrika Korp die, with the little palm tree swastika symbol. For whatever reason I haven't offended anyone yet.

My death korps are loosely based on the afrika korps(It's an infantry/light artillery company). I use tamiya 1/35 Hanomag models as the basis for my hellhound/chimera's, their footprint is longer then a chimera, and about 3/4's of an inch thinner, so your opponents OK will probably be required(I haven't had a problem here so far). Hope that helps!
