GM:"You awake to a beautiful morning, the forest is peaceful as a zephyr whistles through the tree branches" Bob:"A Whistling Zephyr? I waste it with my crossbow...ha I rolled a critical hit...28 points of damage, is it dead?" GM:"What? of course not you moron, it just carries on whistling thru the trees" Sara:"Guys relax a zephyr is just a breeze" Bob:"Breeze my ass, it just took 28 hit points and it's still whistling at me!"

LOL, nice reminds me of a gazebo. Tell me you've heard about that one. I think I might still have the original comic in storage somewhere. I fell away from KotDT later on, it started getting really into the multi-issue story arcs and there was a problem with my subscription and I never managed to get my hands on some crucial issues and it just stopped making sense. Damn shame, it was a really funny comic. And a quote: "This was always the hard part. If you knew what was normal to the enemy, then everything became easy: you could lull them to sleep by feeding them normal, and you could scare the hell out of them by suddenly taking normal away. But normal to Afghans and Chechens was so different from normal to Russians that it took a bit of work for a man like Sokolov to establish what it was. " - Neal Stephenson, Reamde

It's one of the few things that give me goosebumps. It's amazing how a man who became famous for silence and joking did in my opinion the most inspirational speeches, that was using words and serious. Did he write it, or was it written for him to deliver?

I think he wrote it. The Great Dictator was Chaplin's pet project, it took him ages to find a studio to produce it. He ended up doing most of the writing and directing himself.

From work the other day, long story: "One was the first man in space. The other was the Emperor of Ethiopia. Now they fight crime." Yuri Gagarin and Haile Selassie fight crime? The only crime I could see them fighting is grave robbery, and even then they wouldn't be doing much more than being bait and letting guards take all the glory.

They faked their deaths to throw off their enemies. They have many enemies. A Quote: "Oh my god! At least one of us has to be pregnant after that!" - A friend of mine, after having sex with her new Girlfriend.

Age of Empires multiplayer: one of the few situations in the world where you can say something like "a combined army of Mayan crossbowmen, Spanish Conquistadors and Japanese trebuchets fending off a joint Korean, Byzantine and Viking invasion fleet" with a straight face.

*After being pushed headfirst off a story-and-a-half-high balcony* "I'm fine! As I suspected, this thing must be a personal force field. I'm pretty sure it has some inertial dampening effects, 'cause I didn't feel a thing. Go on, hit me." *Gets punched in the face. The perpetrator's fist harmlessly bounces off the force field, injuring the perpetrator* "You didn't have to put so much force into it. Did anyone else notice that he didn't even hesitate?"
"This might as well read, 'tiddle-diddle-diddle-bong!' It's gibberish!"

Something that happened in my friend Hutch's Call of Cthulhu campaign, which he is GMing. Me, and my friends Will, Maegan, and John are playing. Location in-game, is an alley in Milan.
Hutch: You see a chameleon run up the wall.
Maegan: I want the chameleon!
Hutch: *Doesn't know how to respond*
Me: Let her roll on the Track skill, man.
Hutch: *sigh* Fine, go ahead.
Maegan rolls, and passes.
Always thinking on the fly, Hutch comes up with a witty response.
Hutch: You grab it by the tail, however, it is able to get away, though your grip causes it's tail to detach.
Maegan looks on in horror, while I start laughing on the inside. She leans on Will's shoulder, and covers her face.
The next 5 minutes were spent with Will, Hutch and Myself laughing at the misfortune.
;D
