As said in warhammer 40k rule book, transports do not take up any space in force organastion chart, which means you could field lots of chirmeras. In my personally opinion I think chimeras kinda suck in the new codex, the front and side armor is bad, which means that there is a chance that chimera could be destroyed easliey, well I thought of a new use the chimera transport, I thought it as a suppersing vehicle. What I mean is that since there is good upgrades for the chimera I thought of fielding such vehlices. Necsially, if you field 5 chimeras for example and gave them all hunter killer missles, multi-laser, heavy stubber, and a heavy bolter, you bascily have a anti-infantry/ a tank hunting vechile, but there is a problem you can only use a hunter-killer missile one time per game, but still have a chance of killing a tank, what are your guys thoughts on my new use if the chimera?

Alternatively, how about putting a squad in the "Basic" Chimera? If you have a squad with a missile launcher and grenade launcher (or plasma gun) in the squad, you have shots every turn plus more capability.
Or how about putting a platoon command, 2 infantry squads and 2 heavy weapon teams in your 5 Chimeras?
Chimeras really rock now, more than ever, due to the ability to fire up to 5 models from the top hatch.

Yeah, 5 fire points. It puts other armies' transports to shame.

But keep in mind my friend, our transport has better armour than the Rhino, the Razorback, the Devilfish, the Trukk, the Dark Eldar thing, and the Falcon. Our APC is the best in the game.
Plus it comes with firing ports. Plus it comes with 2 very powerful weapons with lots of shots, and options for a third machine gun. It also treats water features as clear, which actually came in handy today when my opponent put a pond on the board.
Chimera's are far better than any other transport in the game.

Chimera's need a Leman Russ backup to draw fire, otherwise every Lazcannon and Rocket launcher will be coming their way. I ran a mechanized list for a long time, and it sucked unless there was Russage in the list.
That being said, if the opponent ignores them they will tear him apart. Wounding a marine on a 2+ with the main gun, 12" objective rushes and the low points cost mean you can field a small army of them and hammer in the small arms fire.

Also, they're dirty cheap and better than rhinos.

Chims rule now, they are the best transport in the game. Sure side armour of 10 is low, but 12 on the front is awesome. and the points now make them a steal.

the whole point is to take so many that you can line them up, presenting only AV 12 to the enemy.

One Chimera will get outflanked and blown apart. A wall of Chimerae, with something more solid anchoring the ends of the line, is incredibly hard to crack.

Almost the same with anything guard related, 1 is a target for getting killed, u need numbers!!!!!! It's the guard way, we aint no space marines lol. Same logic applies to russes, etc...... But if ur chimera geta blown up, means 1 less shot heading towards a russ, so still worth it
