RT has a good point about the Dark Lances. Valks and things like Devil Dogs and Hellhounds really come into their own. Hydras alone would be a nightmare for DE raiders.

Yes, but the DE don't spend a turn in front of your guns. The Raider moves 18", the Warriors have fleet. So it's likely that the DE charge you on the second turn, or sometimes first if you deployed badly. Then they get nasty tricks like Webway portals, so there's actually a couple more squads where you least expected it. Then again they are as flimsy as guard in terms of saving throw. I think basic warriors should have 4+ save - the armour looks better than carapace.

yep, pretty much latex and plastic...my warriors would be wise to take cover in ten man squads double packing my heavy weapons.
now lances are only S8 this is true...so I'm looking at 5+ or 6+ to pen...a bit rough on the front armor of the valk, but I have reavers with blasters and raider squads with blasters and blasters are dark lances with a shorter range plus assault...if your coming at me with the valk I will get behind it.
plus on turn one if I don't like your setup I will likely just push most of my army up 24 inches and sit on the big juicy cover save... oh yeah...and cross my fingers for luck. (plus, the insanity, you have no idea the insanity I can bring along with my dark eldar!)
The DE would probably go down in flames...most of the time they do,
maybe not someday though. [/offtopicrant]

In short, the campaign to occupy Commorgargh will be conducted by so many Guard that even if we are unsuccessful, the sheer quantity of bodies piled in a heap will eventually topple over and crush the burning remains of their city. Except they will never find the Dark City, it's hidden deep in the webway. Hidden even from the Craftworld Eldar.

Yeah, and they just wanna go out and kill and raid and torture to prolong their own twisted pleasures for as long as possible before they die and get swallowed by nasty pink tentacled daemons covered in razorblades and what not, very horrible and nasty way to go out...might as well have some fun with it first.
How they managed to survive for so long is beyond me considering the dwindling nature of the Eldar...my only guess is higher population growth over the centuries.

*Addressing millions of veterans of Catachan, Cadian, Vostyroyan and other regiments*
Gentlemen, whomever finds the city of Commoragh will recieve the eternal blessing of the Emperor, stewardship of the planet Larrus (Pleasure world), and a night with Makarova, Melissia and Galatea!

Dark Angels?
What a bunch of jerks...
Wolves is good...they are the least Space Marine like of the Space Marines, in terms of fluff anyhow...
Dark Angels and Blood Angels only feel like half a codex.
(edit: To find Commoragh, set off into uncharted and unknown regions of the warp until you find a hole into the webway, stumble blindly though a never ending series of tunnels until you fall upon it by accident...good luck!)

That's news to me. ;D Plus could could fit trillions of people in the webway, it covers the galaxy,

Citation: Ian Watson's Inquisitor. The webway is not 'used', one merely walks through it randomly until something interesting happens.

of course they can. Czevak got in and he's only human so they can technically operate in there. Also I bet if we asked the craftworld eldar nicely and offered to clean up their little "problem" they would help us navigate the webway.
BTW there are some craftworld units that know where commorragh is namely the harlequins.

Harlequins aren't part of any of the Craftworlds.
They're a separate entity from the rest of the Eldar. They also do not reveal their knowledge of the Webway, as they are completely neutral, and their purpose is to guard the Black Library.

Any living being can operate in the webway. The problem is that it's an insane maze. The kind that has open pitfals taht drop you directly into the warp, or with daemon-infested dead ends.
