I read an early rumour that they were getting Bjorn Fellhanded, a legendary Dread who fought in the Great Crusade. And that he was going to have AV 14 all around.

AV14 is VERY hard to crack in close combat... so that'd be a very expensive dread.

And after my on-topic question is ignored, even Gree goes off topic. Huzzah! At this point I have given up. Anyway I heard they where just going to do AV14 for the front on Bjorn.

Sounds more sensible. Even if you could technically make a very bulky Land Raider-armoured Dread with the same protection all around. It might have trouble walking though.

Also BOLS reported that SW jump-packers are now called 'Skyriders'. Its unclear if they're still blood claws, or more highly ranked. Forget complaining about Wolves, they needed this. I'd complain more if the rumours that Black Templars are next after the Wolves, are true. BT codex was unneccessary. Why should they have been different from the 'Fists?

So they can sell another $22 codex, duh! And after my on-topic question is ignored, even Gree goes off topic. Huzzah! What have you learned? ;D

BT codex was unneccessary. Why should they have been different from the 'Fists? Because the black templar are a crusade legion with unique recruitment and orginization and the imperial fists are just a chapter. The BT allowed the 7th legion to adhire to the new chapter system while still fufilling their post heresy roll as a crusade legion. post heresy pre codex astartes is the best time for the Imperial fists...it is the period where they painted their armor black and launched the first crusades against the traitor marines... during tht time the Ultramarines held the Imperium together...while the Imperial Fists took the fight to the enemy.

Not even Horus could stand against the "off-topicness" pressure of this forum. I don't think it's a bad thing. How much are you willing to bet that every once in a while in some thread, Yarrick would randomly go off-topic about how much he hates the orks? And who's gonna tell Yarrick to get back on topic?

I might, but I'm to busy fighting a three-fronted forum-war with Gree and Melissia. So I'm fairly ambivalent.

See? Even RT only gives a "might." Yarrick's the man.
Somewhere along the line, I posted my 2000th post, and didn't notice...

Space Wolves can have their new codex... sure why not, DE better be next though...and if they're not, well I am just going to sit on my hands and wait.

I'd be fine with either DE or 'crons. Those are the real armies that need an update the most.

In general I was complaining about the way that GW treated veteran SW players over these past 10 years. Wolftime! HOWL! Templars and Blood Angels are supposed to be the next updated lists. Again, my complaint was because the Templars already have a relatively recent book, and Angels have a small free codex. More marines on the horizon, next year. I want Lost and Damned codex.

The word from my gaming buddies before 5th ed came out was that the DE would be dropped altogether and go the way of the Squats(NNnnnOoo!!)
but then the 5th ed book came out and still supported them as a major race with fancy new artwork, and then rumors started to fly around the internets about Jes Goodwin giving the whole line a redesign and a shiney new codex coming out..I've been happy as a clam ever since...I can wait for it... I've already waited for years.

You never know with GW they might surprise us all and release another new race instead of DE I kinda think they're scarred they might screw up the DE hence all the SM chapter codices.

The problem with DE is that really they can't make THAT much of a difference whereas all the other races can to some extent. DE are a cool army, but they'll never beat the guard on even-ish terms.

They never beat anyone. They really don't care about that - they're just here to pillage, enslave, torment, kill and terrorise. Like me.

Hah! Even terms? that is just silly... No...they will not beat the guard on even terms and they know it...but the Dark Eldar are cunning and twisted, they will not attack you unless the enemy is vulnerable...and when they attack it is with fast and brutal force. armor will not survive a dark lance assault...afterward the left overs will be picked apart by very deadly close combat specialists on fast moving open topped skimmers. (or they will all die horribly before they get the chance...it is pretty much one way or the other.)

What I'm saying though is they CANT have enough of an effect on the galaxy or any rubbishy tiny IG units before we call in the Elysians and all of the Dark Eldar die when they realize that we have a faster, more survivable, more heavily armed and more maneuverable force than theirs. I love the Valkyrie/Vulture, the ultimate in making eldar players cry when they realize the "slow and ponderous guard" are in fact deadly quick ;D

Bah, who wants to effect the galaxy? let it rot...
The Elysians are welcome to come to Commorragh any time if they can find it...I am sure they would enjoy their visit.
ooh look the enemy is coming to us this time! *swarms them with WS4 and I5*
when and if a new DE codex comes out I can see them being the bane of the new IG...just you wait and see!

WS4 And I5, meet combined squads and first rank fire.
*Hail of laserfire kills Dark Eldar*
Incubi, meet Heavy Flamers. And Hellguns.
Scourges, meet Valkyries.
In fact, everything - meet Valkyries.
Talos, meet meltaguns.
Wyches - meet lasguns.
In short, the campaign to occupy Commorgargh will be conducted by so many Guard that even if we are unsuccessful, the sheer quantity of bodies piled in a heap will eventually topple over and crush the burning remains of their city.

2 raiders hit combined squad and unload wyches.
Incubi shrug off heavy flamers then loose some to hellguns before they release Archon and kill everything.
Scourges...stay at home... brings in Ravagers.
Valkyries, meet dark lances...lots and lots of cheap dark lances
casualties will be high.

Not really. Dark Lances aren't much use against Valks, mainly because Valks already have AV12. Incubi are going to get slaughtered by hellguns, being only T3 - most of the squad, not counting the fatalities from other weapons.
Wyches are good, but in terms of combat shock troops, the fact is that you are going to have to spend at least one turn in front of my guns before you can unload those Wyches, which, considering the sheer fragility of any AV10 Open-topped transport, is not in any way a good thing for you.
