Q. Can orders be issued to allied Witch Hunter and/or Daemonhunter units? A. No, orders can only be issued to non-vehicle units from Codex: Imperial Guard. I think Sisters of Battle, Grey Knights and in particular Inquisitors would have some serious objections with a lowly Imperial Guardsman telling them what to do! Q. As the units in Codex: Imperial Guard have changed, can we have a clarification of which units you are allowed to induct into a Witch Hunters and/or Daemonhunters army? In particular, can we include the special characters that replace the Platoon Commanders? A. You may include any of the inducted units from Codex: Imperial Guard that are listed in the ‘By the authority of the immortal Emperor of Mankind…’ rule with the exception of Armoured Fist Squads – these no longer exist as a separate unit entry. Note however that all Imperial Guard Infantry Squads can now take a Chimera transport if they so choose. You may include any of the normal options from these units allowed in Codex: Imperial Guard so yes, you may include special characters that replace Platoon Commanders. Inducted Sentinel Squadrons can be either Armoured Sentinel Squadrons or Scout Sentinel Squadrons. Also note that as the list states you are limited to 0-1 Leman Russ Battle Tank you may not include any other types of Leman Russ such as the Demolisher, Executioner etc. Q. Can allied models in terminator armour, such as Grey Knight Terminators, embark in Valkyries/Vendettas? A. No. The Valkyrie cannot transport Ogryns or models of a similar size (such as Terminators). source: 5th Edition Imperial Guard FAQ

At least they cleared up the fact that inducted guard get only one LRBT with a battle cannon. I remember an argument on BoLS where someone was arguing that it should be a squadron with all Leman Russ varieties available.

Which was what was presented to us in the 'Ard Boyz rules update.
Also note, by all technicalities, before this was released, it was either a squadron or nothing at all, as there is no unit listing for a single Leman Russ Battle Tank.

I would have gone with one tank of any variety. I suppose that would have been too good though. I mean, sisters aren't allowed to have shiny toys like executioners, now are they ... but I would have laughed so hard if they had said, "Sisters can still take a single punisher, though" just to try to sell the box a little bit more...

I would have laughed pretty hard myself.
I mean, a Leman Russ punisher with sponsons costs the same as four heavy bolters and an immolator w/tl heavy bolters. And the Retributor squad would be better. And Grey Knights don't lack anti-infantry ability.

As for people who put Ogryns in a valkyrie........shoot them with a krak missile at point blank range!

Did they ever clear up if you could take veteran squads?

Did not think so. I would have liked to field the camo cloak ones.

Sisters perform the same role reasonably well.

And for a similar cost, as well, though they must use Rhinos instead of Chimeras.
ACTUALLY! Are the Chimeras that come with Infantry Platoons dedicated?
IE, can I take an infantry platoon with chimeras, and then put my Sisters in them instead?

Yes the chimeras are dedicated. The valkeries however are not dedicated.

I can't take valks in my Sisters army, so I don't really care too much about that as far as this army goes.

You can always just ride in the dedicated chimeras after the game starts, the only restriction is that you cant deploy inside the dedicated.

I can picture a Sister Superior tank jacking the Chimera and for some reason it strikes me as funny

If that's the only restriction, kaime, then it's not a dedicated transport At least no tin the way I'm referring to it. Yes, there still are armies that have dedicated transports in the old fourth edition style where only the unit that bought the transport could use it, or something to that effect. Daemonhunters are like that IIRC.

You can spend points on a chimera for every infantry squad, start the game with them parked next to the Sisters and then hop in on turn one.

Rhinos work for what they do though chimeras just give them a couple heavy wepaons

IG chimeras cost 55 points, come with two heavy weapons, smoke, and searchlights.
WH Rhinos cost 50 points, and come with a storm bolter.
Are you saying you can't see a reason to take chimeras?

In the last imperial armor update the rhinos were dropped to 35 points. I do agree they should get acess to chimeras but that is either here nor there.

Yes, which requires the opponent's permission. I don't have to have their permission to use allies

You do not have to have permission to use allies for inquisition armies, you do have to have permission to use forgeworld.
Melissia is correct.
