Hi everyone, I've just started a Death Word Vets army and looking over the rules, i am baffled and annoyed at the ambush rules. Hopefully i have misread them but this is what i am sure of. You divide the board into 1" squares and they stay hidden until an enemy unit detects them with scanners or an auspexes. This is a crap rule. Not only can the ambushers not move or assualt the entire squad must fit within the 1" square and any opponent with an ounce of sense will just stay away from the ambushed location. Its the same stupid rules with Booby traps as well. Please help! All feedback is readily welcomed.
Thanks,
Karskin.

You have it wrong, first off its a 1 foot square '' means inches ' means feet. And when you set them up YOU know where they are and YOU remeber what square there in but your ENEMY does not know where they are, they are not on the table until you want them to be. They are clueless, this goes for traps too. Also they don't need to be detected to come out, they can ambush the enemy, at any begining of YOUR turn, you can "reveil" them and place them anywhere in that 1' square, but they HAVE to be 1" away from an enemy unit, so you can't start in base to base contact. They also must be in jungel etc etc you should know that much. If YOU show your ambush you may move, shoot, and charge as normal. If you are found by your enemy you may shoot but not move or charge and count as moving for the purposes of shooting.
Now the scanner thing is if an enemy has a scanner or auspex then at the begining of his shoooting phase he "scans" to detect traps/ambushes. This just means, any unit (there is a list on the rules page) that can scan scans but waistes his shooting turn, if he scans in your 1' square you HAVE to come out with the rules as above and on the page.
Hope this cleared all your problems up

Thanks a lot .found this has really cleared up some problems. A couple of things i'm still puzzled with though do the ambushers count as reserves and do they have to roll like Deepstiking to turn up? Apart from that i'm all set. Thanks agian.
