Am I right in remembering a patriarch on a throne/palaquin? Yes. There were two models. One like you say on a throne and one that looked like the current Broodlord. The Throne one was more display, I seem to remember. Actually BoLS has a Cult codex, but it would be nice to have an official one as well.

I suggest a ripper swarm idea which could suicide into vehicles with a stength 6 with 2d6 penetration per base, you lose the unit but you can kill a tank.

But there'd be endless complaining from SMurf players over dead land raiders. So far the only thing I don't like about the tyranid codex is one of the only confirmed facts I have about it: the cover.

It looks, ah, interesting, I like the big Carapace it's got...
So according to BoLS standard Gaunts will be 3 points including Without Number, and Hormagaunts will be 6 points. This is excellent.

So long as I can use all my stealers(perferibly as troops!) I'll be happy.
Oh and they need to make lictors better...and getting to use two broodlords as HQs would also be pretty neat.

I use my Lictor only for the re-rolls to reserves so I can get my 'stealers in on time. Which is a shame because it's a really awesome model and has great thematic element.
I'm hoping 'toxathrope' is something of a placeholder name until we find out the real one, I'd find it difficult to take something with the name of a pokémon seriously...

What element are Space Marines? I can't attack if I don't know what it's immune to...
In the meantime Toaxathrope uses, uh, Toxic?

He's a space Marine, He is immune to all host of poison, alcohol and can place himself into a coma. He is a genetically altered human that has two hearts and spits acid. Use the fire on him dang you.

Marines are steel, fighting. Guard are normal or fighting. Orks are grass, fighting. Tau are water. Eldar are psychic ghost, Dark eldar are dark ghost. Necrons are Steel ghost, tryanids are either grass or poison, Witch hunters are fighting.
It doesn't affect wild Space marine. Wild space marine used bolter fire! But it missed....

Millions of squats appear to chase the Tyranids off, and steal that power armour.

Toxathrope is the German Translation. In English: VenomThrope. I was hoping for a straight port of the Malanthrope, but apparently we get this instead. This has been confirmed by a listing on an Independent Retailer's Advance Order Form, as has something called the Pyrovore, suspected to be a much larger and more powerful Biovore. (The Pyrovore is another candidate for the Model that will "make the Carnifex look like a dwarf". Other statements from Dev Team members at Games Days put it roughly on par with a Basilisk, in unspecified ways.)
Release Date is in early January, the 2nd IIRC, but don't quote me on that. I'm too lazy to look it up, but it has been confirmed.
Also confirmed: The Dex has been finished, and was written by Robin Cruddace, who wrote the IG Dex, so I expect good things from it.
There will be three new Plastic Kits, three new Metal Kits, confirmed on GW's Website. The Toxathrope is one of the Metals, and the BroodLord that was shown earlier this year is likely another. Raveners and Gargoyles head the list of suspects for the Plastic Kits, along with the Trygon. Existing Plastic Sprues are remaining unchanged, but that same Advance Order Form had Termagants and Hormagaunts as separate boxes (finally!).
There will be "Special Characters", not unique individuals so much as very rare mutations and special Creatures that would be restricted to appearing once per Army, in the same manner as SCs from other Armies. One of these is rumoured to unlock Warriors as Troops, and another to let Rippers count as Scoring Units.
A Heavy Support Warrior Unit has been Rumoured, with base S and T 5, and multiple Models able to take Venom Cannon or Barbed Stranglers.
Stealers are said to be moving to Elites, although there will be an option (probably the BroodLord, possibly an SC) that will let them be taken as Troops.
Gaunts of all types will be getting cheaper, possibly as low as 3 Points base, including Without Number.
The OP mentioned Synapse needing a re-work, I doubt it'll get much beyond some clarifications. I've never had my Synapse Net destroyed except when I've been Tabled or close to it, and most of the Nid Players I know have similar experiences.
There was a Rumour regarding some units getting Feel No Pain, but that's on my "I'll believe it when I see it" list.

Every tyranid player is praying for plastic gargoyles.
Venomthrope? That's an even bigger mouthful of letters.

There seems to be some support for Plastic Gargoyles. Jess Goodwin has stated several times that they just barely didn't make the cut for a Plastic Kit last time the Model Line was visited, and that they were next on the priority list. Also, one of the Gargoyle options has been removed from GW's online store, and there have been reports of Retailers being unable to order them, implying that they're going out of production and running out stock.
Similar story with the Ravs, actually.

Just in time for me to paint and feild my metal gargoyles...
Oh well...at least it'll be easier to fill out the whole squad.
Actually that'll be pretty awesome.
