Sharpshooters
Hardened Fighters

Rough Riders
Light Infantry or Mechanised (probably Mechanised)
I'm thinking about fielding a Tallarn force, and I was wondering if anyone had played a Tallarn army with the doctrines listed, and how lists built on them fare. If I fielded this list, I would probably also included some Last Chancers to make up for the loss of Demo charges. My other consideration is to drop Light Infantry in favor of Mechanised depending on the point value im playing at, to represent a Tallarn mechanised recon unit a la Lurenz's Gravediggers (mentioned on the GW UK site). I figure that it would maintain the mobility of the force, and I would use Light Infantry in small battles or in Cities of Death battles.
Assuming the either set of doctrines, what should a well rounded Tallarn force look like? My goal is versatility, as my gaming group includes Eldar, Necron, Ork, Marine, Nid, and Tau players and I don't have the models to field more than one list or so per points value. Plus I think switching lists for each opponent is a beardy practice. In general our games run from 1500-2000, just as a reference.
My idea is to use Demo Chargers and Rough Riders to mess up the enemy on their side of the board, unless Termies deep strike, in which case I'll save the charges for them. Against shooty armies I'll take the fight to them using Chimeras and Rough Riders, especially Priest squads. Against assaulty armies I plan to use Chimera's to slow down assaults, and get out as much rapid firing as I cant before countercharging with Priest squads and Rough Riders.
Thanks,
