Lies! It says on the thread title that it would be 1500 points.
Both look like fun, otherwise.

I haven't read the new Space Wolves list, but the image of all those wolves and a special character making them better is total waffles.
This werewolf bîtch approves.

This (these?) list(s) is (are) awesome. You're gonna curl up into the fetal position and cry if it's an objective game, though...

I love the lists, too. It's mad!
You can exchange the Long Fang Packs for 2 squads of 5 Thunderwolf Cavalry if you want to go supernova wolfy.2 of them with Mark of the Wulfen to even the points out. I prefer the anti-tank. Those 12 Long Fangs are brilliant. Also one of the rhinos can be used by Harald Deathwolf in one of his infamous drive-by shootings. (The Wolf-father)
Thunderwolves aren't cavalry - they don't have 'Fleet of paw/foot', it only says 'cavalry' in the description, so it's a bit weird. Canis is pretty mad!. All Fenrisian Wolves within 12" of him use his Ld, which gets the boost by the Wolf Lord, anyway.
But, yeah! In objective games you have no Troops to hold objectives.
I'm thinking about this one hard. I was looking at GW site, and you can get 5 plastic wolves for £7.85. ..... No! I must resist buying ....wolves.... 75 wolves, hmm......

Cavalry makes them able to assault 12" though, even if they're not Fleet. =)
And I'm not sure, but in the 5th edition rules it might say that all cavalry are Fleet unless otherwise specified.

Looking at the rulebook, you are right. But I'm sure it says 'Fleet' in the rough rider description. No mention of it in the Thunderwolf description, at all.
The Long Fangs are better, because at least there is a lot of anti-tank. As long as the Squad Leader lives, each squad can divide it's shooting between 2 targets. 4 enemy tanks per turn can go down with just average luck, and then the wolves close in for the kill.

I once had a dream I was being chased by a pack of black wolves. I ran and ran until I was almost home, then a giant white wolf flew down from the trees in front of my house and I was trapped. When they began to close in I woke up in a cold sweat and felt sick for several hours.
I imagine that is what fighting against this list might be like.

Sounds intense, rocketman. Might wanna start sleeping with the helmet on.
And wow, they didn't make it easy to find those wolves.. They're in the WHFB mounts and steeds bitz section. ...Alongside some other interesting stuff...

When they began to close in I woke up in a cold sweat and felt sick for several hours. It sounds like the white one was pack leader. The only thing putting me off the army is that there are hardly any boltguns in it at all.

Who needs bolters when you have teeth?

Aha! But... would you rather have no teeth and a bolter, or no bolter and lots of teeth?
(That is a question they ask all the aspirants of the Fang in a multiple choice questionnaire, before they get sent out to fight Thunderwolves and internet Trolls)...
Edit - Makarova is right. All beasts and Cavalry have fleet and charge 12".
