So, last night into the early hours of this morning, Reds talked me into rebuilding my Raven Guard army to act as a support of sorts to an IG list.
This is what came from that:
HQ:
Captain Shrike- 195pts.
Chaplain- 120pts. Jump Pack, Melta Bombs
Troops:
Tactical Squad- 175pts. Meltagun Rhino- 35pts.
Tactical Squad- 175pts. Meltagun Rhino- 35pts.
Scout Squad- 140pts. 10 Scouts w/ Bolt Pistol, CC Weapon
Fast Attack:
10 Assault Marines- 245pts. 2x Flamers Sergeant with Pair of Lightning Claws, Melta Bombs
Vanguard Vets- 310pts. 5x Lightning Claw, Storm Shield, Jump Packs
Land Speeder Tornado- 70pts. Multi-Melta, Heavy Flamer
Total: 1500pts. Total Models: 48
Edit: Forgot to include the Vets Jump Packs.

Actually, it feels like a 'red marines' list.
I assume you're sticking Shrike in the van vets's squad, otherwise I would not allow you to waste your points like that...

I take no responsibility for this list.
Req, it would be foolish to stick Shrike with them, since they would lose the ability to use Heroic Intervention. By putting Shrike and the Chappie in the jump squads, you spread the pain around and make the opponent have to deal with multiple threats.

Well, Shrike can go where I need him most. The Vanguard Vets and Shrike however would contain so much ass kicking power that it would likely melt a hole in the table. However, I'll likely put Shrike with the Assault Marines and split them into two combat squads. Put the Chappy in the other, and the ass kicking is spread out nicely.

Edit: Did a math check. Envoy, say you purchased jump packs, since you did...

I did purchase Jump Packs. I listed them as JP's on my other sheet, and forgot what JP meant...

You never know with Marines...
I should probably talk tactics for this list as well.
Basically it's an Assault from all directions. Whatever can start in Reserve, does. The Tac Squads in Rhino's rush forward and grab objectives, while the Scouts break into two combat squads to tie things up or act as support to the Rhino mounted units.
The Assault Squad breaks into Combat Squads, Shrike taking command of one unit and a Flamer, while the sergeant and the Chaplain tag team in the other to run disruption and cause as much confusion as possible. The Vanguard Vets drop in and use their Heroic Intervention to tie up nasty CC units, and the Land Speeder is there for the last second objective contest as well as displacing units in cover.

Very straight forward. And also effective. I fear that large numbers of pie plates could undo this list, though. You'll have to stick to cover like nobody's business... But that's what Raven Guard would do anyway...

Yeah. Since they removed consolidating into new enemies this list is much more fragile. But, I want to be in combat or cover anyway. So, it all comes down to what I charge and how long it takes to kill it.

Shrike: I hope I don't kill this next squad too quickly -- they won't shoot at me if I'm eviscerating they friends.

Lmao But more like: Shrike: Alright, here's the plan, eviscerate these guys a little slower than normal. They can't shoot us while they're blinded by their allies entrails flying all over the place.

The biggest problem I may run into with this list is getting my hands on models with Lightning Claws and Storm Shields...

Just curious? Am I the only one that finds it stupid that Command squads cannot be issued jump packs or Terminator armour? Another question. How does Shrike throw grenades? Does he take off his lightning claws? A third question. What happens when lighting claws get stuck on the marines hand?? Do you try to pull it off with your feet or something? Can't get someone to help you, they'll get stabbed. Anywho... it looks like a solid list. coud use some help in the ranged AT fire department.

If I could give a Command Squad Jump Packs, it would make things so much easier, and make much more sense. Another question. How does Shrike throw grenades? Does he take off his lightning claws? A third question. What happens when lighting claws get stuck on the marines hand?? Do you try to pull it off with your feet or something? Can't get someone to help you, they'll get stabbed. A wizard did it.

"And no one's allowed to say anything about my beakie-style helmet, okay?" forget about the lightning claws, it is that beakie style helmet that makes Shrike a bad ass, it's aerodynamic!

There's a reason everyone in his army has Fleet. He taught them how to become more aerodynamically sound than every other 8 foot tall killing machine!

living ammunition?
Bah, how about...locks targeted squad in combat with Shrike during the next assault phase.
That's what I call a Shrike cannon.

Living ammunition was a joke. as Shrike is the "cannon ball" I like it. I'll see if I can sneak it in to a game as my HQ choice.
