This is the list for my 1500 pt Salamanders army, I really only plan to use it for friendly games. But maybe tournaments eventually.
HQ: [190]
Vulkan He'stan [190] (Rides in LRR with Assault Terminators)
Troops: [500]
Tac Squad (10) [250] (MM, Flamer, sergeant w/power fist, Razorback w/ extra armor and storm bolter)
Tac Squad (10) [240] (MM, Flamer, sergeant w/power weapon, Razorback w/ extra armor and storm bolter)
Elites: [540]
Ironclad [170] (2x Hunter-Killers, Ironclad assault launchers)
Ironclad [170] (2x Hunter-Killers, Ironclad assault launchers)
Assault Terminators (5) [200] (Thunder Hammers/Storm Shields)
Heavy: [265]
Land Raider Redeemer [265] (Multi-Melta)
Total: 1495
I'm open to criticism and changing the list considering so far I only have one marine built and one Ironclad (I don't have much free time for assembly and painting and I like to paint things before I assemble them.)
Lastly I just wanted to explain my general idea for using this army.
Vulkan and the Terminators in their Land Raider ride into CC with their master crafted Thunder Hammers and their 3+ group invulnerable save and dive into combat with whatever big thing they can find while the Ironclads run into combat with infantry/tanks/whatever.
The two ten man squads are split into combat squads, five with a Multi-Melta, and five with a Flamer, the Sarge goes with the flamer squad which goes into the Razorback. The Razorback squad rides up into rapid fire range and with the combined fire of the squad and the Razorback try to force a morale check, and even if they don't they're probably going to punch a big hole in the squad they attack.
The two combat squads with Multi-Meltas just sort of hang back, going from cover to cover and popping whatever they can. My reasoning for leaving them on foot being that hopefully the enemy will be too distracted by the two ironclads running around bashing stuff with their giant hammers, the land raider, and the razorbacks all rushing around to notice the two little squads with Multi-Meltas.
So, advice? Comments?
