I'm starting a campaign against pesky Alaitoc Eldar invading the quartz forests in resource world of Kochi. The campaign will feature 4 normal objective driven games, 4 city fights and a jungle fight.
We've agreed to take the same army throughout the campaign, and the campaign structure allows for minor reinforcement/adjustments subject to VP's won etc. That way we can actually learn to use our troops rather than simply trotting out "surprise" units every battle.
What doctrines, squads, approaches would people suggest. The campaign is going to be very mini's focused with the following available (as models) to each side:
Eldar Army: Dire Avengers (10), Fire Dragons (5), Swooping Hawks (5), Howling Banshees (5), Striking Scorpions (5), Dark Reapers (4), Guardians (30), Farseer, Warlocks (3), War Walkers (2) w scatter lasers, Wraithlord (1) w/Brightlance. Eldar Wave Serpent.
Kochi Quartz Dogs Imperial Guard Army: 4 Guard Squads, 2 Command Squads, including colonel, 2 lieutenants, medic, company standard. Nork Deddog. HW teams: mortar (5), ML (4), AC (3), HB (3). 2 Vet Squads w. storm bolter, GL (2) and ML. Storm troopers (10) w. GL and Flamer, 8 ratlings, Sentinels (3) w. AC. Chimera w. HF and HB. 3 psykers and a Techpriest Enginseer.
Much help required - subsequent battle reports will be produced with graphics and pictures (ooooo!), so I'd quite like to win a few, or at least lose with dignity!
I need a balanced force for handling different battle types and would ppreciate feedback and input...

expect to get pie plated by the swooping hawks every other turn so you'll need your infantry IN cover or they'll get splatted with no save if memory serves correct. you'll really need to focus on downing his aspects as a priority - the wave serpent is killable with autocannon and plasma gun and missile launcher fire (in that order of value...autocannons are best, followed by plasma, etc).
the dark reapers are marine killers so watch out for your storm troopers falling under their guns. the farseer/warlocks can be HELL if they crew up in a council and take the serpent into your lines then hop out and do the psychic flamer power from each of them. it kills us baaad.
those are some initial thoughts - good luck!

Many thanks. Have plenty of Autocannons and Missile Launchers. I've been avised that armour is the best response to Warp Spiders (5) which I just realised I missed out... however I only have 3 sents and a Chimera - any other ideas?
