I am designing The Guardians of the covenant now and have come to the conclusion that the troops will use mostly plasmaguns as SW, and ML and Plasma Cannons as HW. This will make them able to engage most infantry and light to medium Vehicles.
The big issue is how to engage AV14 tanks.I do not want any landraiders. These are the ideas I consider. What do you think and have I missed out some ideas?
1. Giving the squads Razorbacks transports with LC.
2. Predators with LC. Problem is I like the AC on my predators.
3. Bike squads with meltas.
4. Attackbikes with Multimelta.
5. Deep striking terminators with Chainfists.
6. Dreadnaught with LC.
7. Land speeders with melta and multimelta.

Land speeders with the Melta and multi-melta load out are fairly successful. Run them in a squad and you have the ability to take down most things.

they are useful because of the speed at which you are able to get them to a target.
Just remember though that they do follow under squadron rules when hit by any sort of concentrated fire it is possible (rare occurance, but possible) to loose all of them in a single shooting phase from some well rolled shots.
I have been on the receiving end of them plenty of times. They are tough, but not so much of a game changer that your opponent will call cheese.
Not like the SW who have the str 10 power fists now just because they are on a wolf. WTF???

Perhaps I should be attaching an attack bike with multimelta to my bike squad. And use two separate Land speeders with multimelta. This would make three Fast attack choices.

Land Speeders fit nicely, they're rather high-tech.

Attack bikes and land speeders with multi-meltas are amazing. Those skimmer titans are cool too.
...wait. Never mind that last bit.

Multi melta blazing skimmer titans. Meeza wants one.... .... I have an idea.... But as a fellow marine player I'll give you some of my opinions 1.Armoured footslogger. No advice worth taking 2. No. Laspreds have gotten way too expensive for that purpose. However a pred with auto cannon turret and lascannon sponsons are very nice all-a-rounders. 3. Toyed with the idea. Its a very good combo always have a attack bike with a multimelta tho'. 4.No advice worth taking. 5. With 2 S8 2D6armour pen attacks you'll only need at most 6. Drop-pods and a cyclone myssile launcher will be great. advice for drop pod usage try to land on you're target so if you roll a on target you can simply move to the rear of the target. 6. Ironclad with chainfist as opposed to a siseimic hammer. Drop-pod 7. Probably a good idea. The one problem I can see is the landspeeder's toughness two units of 2 with 4 multimeltas oughta do the trick. Also my sugguestion. Vanguard vets. Meltabombs and jumppacks. And incredibly cheap unit(No special weapons) and can assualt the turn the come in.

Only if you soup them up. Barebones with JP&MB costs roughly.......300? I'm not sure.

Hetlan. Vanguard might be nice things, but not that the price in the codex.

But said unit can pump out 30 attacks during the assualt. Which doesn't change the fact that 300pts is a LOT. "Cheap" and "Cost effective" are two very different things. Reds

All right, but when you're used to dealing with an 11 man unit that costs 660pts you sould understand what I mean.

Yeah, they're fast attack too, so... that's a third of your 1K force on a non-foc minimum unit. I like them. I never, ever use them. Nor am I really tempted.

See, I'm still new to armies with Power Armour. Any infantry squad that costs more then a Russ is alien to me, and has no place in my army list.
