Wait a minute...does saga of the hunter get conferred to the squad the IC has joined? (suddenly I get the feeling that maybe it does not...) No. It's just for an IC with no squad, only in power armour (not termie or biker`). I hope you were drunk when you wrote those lists, Req. Or Mr. Russ will not be happy. No axe launchers? You've been fooled. I see this becoming a problem for the less observant. *Sigh* RT has played the ultimate prank. I expected some manner of retaliation for my comment above, but this is beyond my expectations. Good show, RT.

I'm not sure if the scouts keep their special rule if you include a WGBL with them (the one about entering play via any board edge).
Also WGBLs are much more expensive than Lone Wolf (elite slot). Only LWs cannot ever join a squad, but you might be able to duplicate one of the WGBLs cheaper, and then outflank with him, using the hunter saga.

It might be worth giving up the ability to potentiall pop up on any table edge to give one of my HQs some extra bodies to tag along with him when he outflanks.
Anyway...here is another list. I play a lot of games at 755 against my friend's space marines.
Wolf Lord x2 wolf claw rune armor Belt of Russ meltabomb= 190
5 grey hunters meltagun powerfist=105
5 grey hunters flamer powersword=90
5 Wolf Guard+Terminator Armor powersword + stormbolter chainfist + stormbolter chainfist + assault cannon x2 pairs of wolf claws=255
Dreadnought with twinlinked autocannon=115
Total 755
Not exactly the wisest use of my points but I think it'll be enough to get me started.

It's pretty small. Watch out for rough riders. Still ... terminators are worth buying just for the models. And you can use them with Space Hulk if you get bored of the BA models. I love the new SW kits. I got given a box to make more Long Fangs for a mate. I still haven't got round to it. Admittedly I've already pinched a few of the scout heads and those sexy wolfy helmets. The whole world revolves around sexy wolfy helmets...

I don't know about sticking a MM on a typhoon, but if it works for you, then great.

I see it as a multimelta x2 krak missiles.
Typically used as a deep strike kamakaze unit.

Typically used as a deep strike kamakaze unit. The kind of unit that gets a 1 whenever it shoots.

pretty much...
which is why 3 S8 shots seem like a worthwhile plan to me.

It doesn't get to fire all three when it deep strikes, though. My point is that it's a AV10 nuisance that a good bolter can eliminate.

true...
so I'll either get 2 S8 or 1 S8 melta ap1 depending on how close it lands...
damn...I was thinking they DS'ed at combat speed...but that's ok...I still think it'll work out.

Yay! Mobility!
The termies are still footslogging. Personally I think you need a LR variant if you take wolfie termies, but you can leave it until you plan out the next 500. Termies in a LR are pretty much the ultimate assault force. 2k is probably about the right sized game to pull out a Land Raider. Land Speeder .... hmm... at least it isn't a squadron, and it takes attention off the termies (who are performing a 200m sprint in tactical dreadnought armour).

You might struggle against another LR. Why not put a bit more AT in there?

Because I've got my fingers crossed that out of 2 chainfists, a multimelta, a meltagun, and a meltabomb one will crack through AV14.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that 3/5ths of that will be able to get into cc to use it.

Yeah...
at least the LR will likely be coming toward me.
The other AV14 nasty I'm likey to face is the ol monolith...
Bah.

The twin-linked lascannons are probably the better choice. You need AT, man! Missile launchers just don't cut it with av14, unless you're lucky.

Not even then, because you have to glance it to death. And 5th makes you laugh at glancing hits. Even penetrating hits don't make me worry half the time...

Wouldn't Redeemers be better for an assaulty army? Ignoring cover saves, I mean.

I kind of like that idea actually...
and maybe swap out the flamer with another meltagun for that second squad of grey hunters.

You don't have much long range AT, but you could have 4x missile launcher on the Long Fang pack instead of the PC, and it's a bit cheaper in points. 4xML is a good anti-tank unit.

For AT in a 2K game, I'd rely on MMs.
